The Infinity is lower, in this list should not be here, The German are far superior SUV no comparison.
Tests are needed a car magazine Autobild or Motor Trend to compare 5 SUV in slalom and lateral acceleration G forces trying all three categories suspension normal, sports and adaptive to see the results. Suspension Normal:Audi Q7 vs BMW X5 vs Mercedes ML vs Porsche Cayenne vs VW Toaureg Suspension Sport: Audi Q7 vs BMW X5 vs Mercedes ML vs Porsche Cayenne vs VW Toaureg Susp .Adaptive: Audi Q7 vs BMW X5 vs Mercedes ML vs Porsche Cayenne vs VW Touareg You also have to compare them with the same level of engine power. 6 cylinder vs 6 cylinder 8 cylinder vs 8 cylinder |

I put 150km on a Standard Suspension X5 last week and it made me feel sick on the rough pavement, It wobbles around a lot at the back end.
I am going to try one with the upgrade to see if it is better, but there is only one upgrade choice with the third row. |

Dynamic Handling Package Pricing
Hey all - I have built so many F15s online in the last several weeks I could probably do it in my sleep . Anyway, I was ordering an xDrive35i M Sport through my dealer and I noticed when he included the Dynamic Handling Package, the option priced out at only $3,600 (versus $4,500). Even more peculiar is that the total MSRP was calculated assuming the $4,500 (??). Sure enough the online builder does the same thing. Does anyone know if the DHP is discounted if you also get the M Sport? Thanks!

I don't know if NEED is the right word. As some have mentioned above, without numbers, we can't quantify how much better the ZDH is than the 2VF. I personally got the ZDH because I have very bad balance (full spinal fusion) and anything that helps keep me upright in a quick turn is worthwhile, haha. Hopefully the extra $$$ makes worthwhile difference.

Did you get your x5..? Let me know the handling is. I love to make flat turn at speed but 4500$ is bit too much. I already have 19k in options and my friends think I'm crazy..
My car goes in production in feb so I have time to decide. |

I am supposed to get mine in Jan. So I'll let ya know when I know, ha! My CA recommended it based on his prior experience owning vehicles with and without the ZDH and my personal physical limitations.

Ha, location twins! I went with Vista in coconut creek because (bear with me here) my friend's wife's stepmother works there and got me a modest hook up deal. I originally put an order in at Lauderdale BMW but cancelled that to get a few extra $ back.

I live like a block away from vista in coconut creek..
At first vista wanted msrp. Then I managed to get a discount from lauderdale import which vista agreed to meet. Showed them the deal I was getting from a dealer in california and they wouldn't match. I told them I'll pay 1700 more than what ca dealer wanted but they need to bump up the discount by 750. They said no and I walked away. Even back in 2005, they were not willing to give a deal so ended up buying from braman in Miami. I called braman a few times recently and their sales people are so arrogant and rude, I didn't even bother to go there this time. |

I am not experienced at all in car purchase negotiations so I may not even be getting a good deal haha. They are matching carmax's trade in value (carmax offered 8k, bmw offered 6k) so that is helpful for taxes, and then on top of that they are giving me $2250 off because Lauderdale BMW offered me 2k off so they beat it by $250 ha. And they introduced me to a mobility program they have in which BMW pays for my hand controls and installation which Lauderdale BMW did not even mention. So that saved me close to 1k too but technically I could get that at any other BMW dealer now that I am aware of it.

Is the E70 marker there in the middle with or without adaptive drive?
When I drove the F15 50i m-sport (assumed to be loaded with all options as every other car at the event was), it felt more floaty around the bends than the E70 with AD. So I'm just doing some comparing even if this chart isn't technically accurate.

Gents,
I am interested in X5 5.0 with MSport and 3rd row (3rd row is critical as otherwise I might renew Jaggg lease or get M5). But I recently found out from dealer that MSport package uses standard suspension and almost everything in package is simply cosmetic. Also, at bmwusa.com, whenever I try to add dynamic damper control + rear axle air suspension, it removes the Mpackage. Based on the chart on 1st page, it seems Dynamic Handling Package has the best suspension even though it doesn't have Msport package. Is that true? Thanks, |

For those who are torn whether or not to get the dynamic handing package, I can tell you this one of the first cars/trucks i did not get it on and i don't think i made a poor decision. While i think DH is amazing (and more importantly in my opinion the included active roll), the stock suspension is pretty dam good. If you can afford it, get it but if you would rather spend more elsewhere I don't think you will regret it too much unless your looking to shave a few tens of a lap time.
Personally I wouldn't even consider dynamic damper alone. Sport is a bit too firm on NJ roads, comfort is too loose. Its the active roll included on the DHP that's awesome. I would like an engineers perspective on the standard suspension. I think its not quite as "standard" as many think... |

confused about Comfort Suspension
about to order my new x30d here in the UK. have picked almost all the options, but one thing that annoys me is whether i should take the Adaptive Comfort Suspension or if it will be a waste.
I test drove the standard suspension today at the local dealer. Though not the greatest (I am coming from a 2007 330d which has a super stiff suspension), I was quite happy with the feel of the drive. Will the Adaptive Comfort give me a much better ride quality or is it only marginal over the standard? Can anyone help me understand how these suspension options will be selected in the car itself? Generally, I tend to find myself not using too much certain features that are either difficult to get to or is quite painful to setup. So with the adaptive suspension, if getting the right setting involves many settings thru the drive controller each time, then I will skip it. Any help from someone how has either of the adaptive suspension systems already fitted? Thanks a ton. This will be my first brand new BMW (always had hand me downs or used cars before), so super excited. |

I have a 3.0d on order with adaptive comfort suspension and 7 seats (reducing cost of suspension by a 1/3)
Understand it defaults to comfort and you press a button to give you a more sporting/ standard type ride. I got it as children and wife feel (but aren't as yet) sick in back of my X5 E70 with sports suspension, and I myself wanted to try to be a bit more comfortable with comfort seats and comfort suspension. Will let you know in March , someone will hopefully give you better info before then so you dont have to wait to order! |
