Should be fairly straighforward to detect the signal from the sensors if they're working properly.

SA blowing smoke. I bought cheap TPMS and works great. Maybe there might be something blocking the signal? I actually had my old TPMS in the trunk and car kept reading those till I figured it out. See if a tire shops can see if all TPMS are working first. Get a reading

I’m taking his word. It’s a fellow forum member. He said he drove the car home after purchase and took the tires off and had no issues. BMW wants to move all the sensors from my original wheels to the new wheels and swap. $50/tire x 8 = $400

Found the problem. Took it to and independent wheel shop recommended by the seller of the wheels. A bit of a drive from me but worth the trip. At first the owner of the shop couldn’t figure it out either as all the sensors were reading on his computer. We took a guess that one or more might be bad and lucked out it was the first one. Replaced it on the spot and everything is perfect. BMW never attempted to replace one as they all were active.
Seller graciously picked up the tab. Shout out to ubreakwheelfix.com in North Miami/Aventura. Would recommend them for sure. |

I thought it is a new set of wheels where the TPMS are also brand new. lol I didn't ask you because it is a common sense to put on a new set of TPMS on a new set of wheels instead of moving the existing one. New set of OEM TPMS is $140-ish. Dismount tire to take a TPMS out from existing wheel is $25/each. Glad you got it resolved though.

So, it is depending where that wheels coming from originally. 2014 model? Then it is about time since 2014 model is manufactured around late 2013.

I have a few TPMS questions I hope you folk can help me with.
I just installed a set of new wheels, tires and TPMS sensors. I went from the 255/19 to staggered 315/20 and 275/20 and did the initial run with the pressures set at rear 39 and front 35 which the Owners manual suggests for the larger tires. The pressure for the 255's is rear 44 and front 36. I initiated the tire pressure reset and took it for a run mostly at 70 mph on the interstate - the progress stalled at 49% and then later failed. Could it be that the pressures weren't what the system needed for the reset? Tomorrow I'll give it a try at 44 and front 36 psi. Edit: How can I code the system for the pressures needed for the wider tires? See attached image of the sensors - the seller re-confirmed that they're correct for my X5. If this doesn't work I'm considering the Autel MaxiTPMS TS508WF with Autel/Ascot MX programmable sensors and program the original sensors ID's into the new ones. Can anyone confirm if this will work? https://autel.com/us/product/maxitpms-ts508wf/ https://autel.com/us/product/adjusta...nsor-aluminum/ |

Can you verify the sensors are for the f15 X5 and not the G05 X5?

Bought new, to go with the new wheels and tires.
My wife is out and about with the pressure at 44 and front 36 psi - if it's still not reset by the time I get home this afternoon I'll purchase the Autel MaxiTPMS TS508WF with Autel/Ascot MX programmable sensors. |

Just make sure you're following the instructions and if the system still won't reinitialize...then perhaps something is wrong with one or more of the sensors. FYI: Starting with the f15...the RDC control module is incorporated into the DSC control module...it is no longer a stand alone module.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions.
When I got home today it displayed the system is active but no pressure values displayed. I then started the reset again and went for a drive - it went smoothly all the way to 99% and hung there for a while and then displayed Active but again no values. I'm going to buy the kit so that I can assess the existing sensors and if need be clone the old sensors and use those ID's in the new programmable sensors. |

Received the MaxiTOPMS TS508WF today and scanned the sensors currently installed all four responded instantly with the below example image.
This has me more puzzled and unsure of what to do next - I had planned on installing the 4 new MX programmable sensors, but now doubt that will resolve the issue. Could it be that the existing sensors hex code aren't in the correct format? |

Further progress.
A few error codes recorded for all wheels, cleared and the next relearn activity came up with no codes. Connected to the OBD port it shows pressure for all four sensors, and the LF ID matches what's in the cars ECU. The ID's don't match the ECU for the other three sensors. Going to head out for a drive and see if the ECU learns the ID's of the other three - will report back after that. Autel states that the speed should be kept between 19 and 64 mph. |
