Thinking of doing the BBK next via Tony, but I'm debating if it would be better to target something else first (downpipe, HPFP, turbo, exhaust, suspension, etc.)?
My goal is one upgrade per year going forward - any recommendations for the best bang for the buck or a logical sequence of progression?

Thanks!
Since you’re tuned already and will have the FMIC sorted, I’d say a logical next step is braking. One thing I noticed especially after tuning was how under-braked the car was which led me to Tony’s kit. Just my two cents!

Install a harness and put a helmet on him, and you'll have a dog-pilot.

Hey! I just found this thread since i js got my X5 and was looking at intake options. I wanted to ask how come you went for the aFe drop in instead of the open BMS one? I want it to sound good for now since the car is pretty stock at the moment, but if the BMS draws in too much hot air id go for the aFe. Whatd you think?

If you’re looking for something with the sound of the BMS I recommend the Midnight Motorsports one that I’m running currently. The BMS one throws lean codes while the MM one has not for me.

Otherwise , the drop in filter is definitely the way to go.

Glad to hear it! I did a bunch of testing on it with Kyle the owner so tell him Sukh sent you when you place the order.

Welp, went to install the new replacement rear BC Extreme Low dampers and shorter Swift springs and found the mounting hole for the shock on the rear swing arms to be threaded. Both sides.

So now I get to order both rear swing arms, and while we’re there we might as well do the rest of the rear too so upper arms and sway bar end links.

It’s testing me , but we’re getting there. Had my Omnique Tints Iolite windshield film installed last week and we still got fresh oil today. Oh, and crossed 83k miles on the way to the shop this morning.

Today marks 4 years with the X5. Lots of figuring out what works , what doesn’t , and pushing it as much as I can.

Looking forward to many more cross-country adventures and memories with this amazing machine.

It’s Ollie’s gotcha day today, the whole reason the Dog Car™️ even exists. They’re more than just pets , they’re family.

Are you going to go with Hardrace for the rear suspension parts?

I also notice they make front control arms and thrust arms for the E70 but not the F15, these parts are interchangable arent they?

Last question, what do you mean by underbraked? I get that the vehicle is faster but it weighs the same, meaning it should still have the same stopping distance no matter how fast it gets to a certain speed right?

Nah I’m just doing OEM or Meyle HD replacements where applicable. Still need to be able to take the wife around in it lol.

I’m sure those parts could be interchangeable , you can use realOEM.com to reference part numbers to confirm. I don’t believe anyone’s tried it but I could be wrong.

Just because it weighs the same, doesnt mean you’re not adding power. The level of acceleration you’re adding to the vehicle needs the appropriate amount of braking power to stop it. Why do Trackhawks and X5Ms come with 8 or 10 piston ceramics when they don’t really weigh that much more? Because they make over 600hp.

I went with the M5/X5M setup from Tony [dentprotony@gmail.com](contact:631864)

Should have everything in hand in the next week or so. I'll create another thread with before and after and some installation pics when we are done!
