Here is the extra FRR-01 just arrived, Ready to ship. Price $300. This module is very hard to find in the US and prices are between $400 - $900. Plus this unit came from 2016 X6 while i am using from 2012 7 series on my DIY. I am giving this price due to the plug being cracked but nothing wrong! And i also use one of my plug to see how it looks like after plugged in, it covers the crack area completely! Check out the pics :

Do you have 5AS as well? If you do have 5DF and 5AS you simply get the radar and wiring correctly to KAFAS and ICM. Flash ICM KAFAS and FRR Radar then do calibration on both ICM and FRR and you should be all set!

You need to take the front bumper off and see if you have SRR-01 short tange radar on the side. I assume you have blind spot detection. If you dont then you also need 2 more sensor on the rear. I assume you already have FRR-01 sensor since you have 5DF. It should be fairly easy retrofit for you.

Nicee. Seems like you also dont have the front SRR short range sensors like me. Do you have SA5AS also lane assist via KAFAS2?

I do have lane assist. The current F15 ACC module incorporates both long and short range radar (it was seperate on the E series)

f15 also produced with SRR sensors on the side of front bumpers which is called SRSNVR-SRSNVL.

It is used on SA5AT and SA5AU on current G series regardless of the FRR or KAFAS2

So i have 5AS, which only includes rear SRR and thats for blind spot. KAFAS2 helps for lane departure warning but does not do automatic lane change. I think the side radar on the front end helps for that.

I have not seen any F15 that has lane assist that will actively mitigate straying out of your lane. It only vibrates the wheel. G series has it

My options are

5AG Lane Change Warning
5AS Driving Assistant
5DL Surround View
5DP Park Assistant

This is the first time i have been in F chassis X5 in my entire life so i really do not know what others optioned, but i was in the market to get the most loaded version which i got at the end. My understanding is 5AD built in to 5AS. And where i see the front SRR on the f85 was when i saw the Mike's ACC+TJA topic. He is equipped with it. But i dont know is that just for LDW or LDP. Regardless of that front 2 SRR, i have seen 5AT retrofit installed without this 2 sensor. I think KAFAS2 will handle with it.

My VO also includes 5AL which is Active Protection and can auto brake during emergency situations. So Kafas2 definitely can maintain the 5AT features with the FRR-01 for sure. But what i see is the newer G series asking for FSC code to activate features like Driving Assistant Pro option in KAFAS module.

I am at the stage trying to run the wires from hood to cabin. What do you guys think? It is pretty tight there. And i couldnt see any light shining in the cabin after removed coupe of trims. Gotta be an easy way somewhere

UPDATE: Driver side much better to work with. Since i had a long cable i can grap from passenger firewall area and run thru to driver side without removing the bumper and re routing the wiring harness. I will first stop at Kafas then split from there to ICM. I should have looked the the firewall situation before installing the wiring harness.

I plan on using one of the spare grommets below the ABS module to enter the cabin. I was a little perplexed why they used the grounding block on the passenger side since there is a much closer grounding block on the drivers side as well. Kafas is right there where the cable would enter.

I will do it later today. I couldn't handle yesterday and i reroute the cable from passenger to driverside without removing the bumper but it was tricky. The good part is now i know how i can easily reach to ACC Radar without removing the bumper Just remove the air intake , gives you the best access 🙌🏼

Almost there : ICU ICM

I ve reached to this step within 15 min. With my guidance EVERYONE going to have some easy steps to remove the middle console as usual

The End :

2,5 hours total amount to remove and put everything back in place. I only have F45 fuse cable left in the project. Rest is gonna be programming and activating.

I noticed that you have to move the seats front and back to get to the bolts on the center console. Did you remove the NBT controller and trim with the buttons (all the pieces at the top) before disconnecting the battery? Did you unplug the ICM with the battery still connected?
