On my previous X5 (2011) I bought the car for $61,055 (invoice was $68,075). Hoping I will get close to the same deal this time around. Any word if the diesel will have the ECOCREDIT?

My local stealer turned down $1700 + invoice on a x35i F15. Gave me the same spill about the F15 being in high demand and most being sold for MSRP. I can't get my CCA discount until February '14 anyway because I let my membership lapse so I am not in any rush. In fact I might just wait until the next Drive Event to see if the '14 F15 will qualify for incentives next year.

I got the same routine - initially I was offered $1500 below MSRP (this was supposedly a "hard limit and not negotiable") - I then proceeded to engage 5 local dealers - eventually I was offered $1900 above invoice from one dealer, which I then proceeded to use as leverage against the same dealer with the supposed "hard limit" - who magically said he would match and lower it by $100. I intend to call the dealer and see if I can get $1500 above invoice for essentially feeding me a line of BS about his "hard limit".

Were you that lady in front of me at the grocery store yesterday? An entire cart full of groceries, over $200, and she wanted to argue with the checker over a coupon. Checker said it didn't apply to that item, lady said the sign said it did, had to call someone to go look at it, they said no, yada yada yada, she still wanted to argue. Turns out it would have saved her 37 cents. After patiently standing there throughout this ordeal, wondering what type of mental disorder would cause this behavior, I pulled a dollar out of my pocket, handed it to her and told her to just go. She looked at me like I had two heads, put the dollar in her pocket and left without another word. Several people in line behind me applauded.

Wow what a story! I am very happy for you. Although I fail to see the relevance of it in the forum post.

I am not sure about yourself, but I work hard for my money, and intend to grind out the best deal I can.

Oh, an I don't use coupons.

Nor do I have a mental disorder.

I think you do see the relevance of the story. It just made me laugh when you talk about grinding it out for another 300 bucks on a 70 or 80 thousand dollar purchase. My son is like that. He's had car salesmen kick him out of dealerships after a week or two of back and forth and he's trying to chip away at that last couple hundred dollars. They get so pissed they just tell him to go away and never come back. I would do the same thing. It's just not worth my time and aggravation.

Ok well to each their own bro - I'm not gonna get into this with you here because frankly I don't really care what your opinion is of my car shopping habits :-)

As a previous post stated as long as it fits the budget. Amount paid is a factor. Main thing is choosing the right vehicle with correct options, that is the hard part.
which dealer if I may ask?

No to preach, but nothing wrong with using coupons. You build wealth by not paying more for something than you need to. Impresses me no end that my wife who is a physician still clips coupons like she did back in her resident days even though she makes a lot of money. She believes the savings would be better spent on her shoe collection amongst other things. Now if only I had her discipline....

If anyone can suggest a dealer that will be willing to offer a good price for the new 2014 X5 xDrive35d, please let me know, I am in the Bay Area.

Also I have a white 2010 xDrive35D with 38K miles on it to trade in...

Thanks!
