Has anyone seen a F15 X5 with runningboards or sidesteps or whatever you call them?

I haven't seen one and I think there will be none on the production model. I'm gonna miss them though

i think it'll be nice and a step-up "luxury-wise" from the e70. i am curious abt the 3rd row, if indeed they are planning an X7 / GL competitor (b/c MB doesn't offer 3rd row on the mid-size ML class, it would interfere with GL sales).

I hope the 3rd row is still there. If I didn't need 7 seats I would have taken a 5-series.

SOP for the F15 is August 2013. In July 2013 will be the highest production month for E70's to have enough carry over inventory till the F15 hits the showrooms.

I have x5 with 3rd row. I can tell you that it's useless even for my 3 yr old. You cannot fit a car seat on it. I think I wasted $1800 on this option.

Looking at the larger dimensions of the rear end on this new X5 it looks like there will be proper 3rd Row seats... I hope it comes with child seat tethers.

Hope they concentrate on a more elegant dash for a list on an SUV that runs between $58-$70k. More standard equipment for the money.

I doubt that would ever happen.....look at all of the other BMW's and their interior design,,,really hasen't changed that much over the years....I think it's functional,,but very dated compaired to the competition!

Latest photos and it is looking good. I also hope they are able to fit a functional third row this time.

Without an apparent increase in length or wheelbase its practically impossible to fit a functional 3rd row. I have one in my E70 and its absolutely useless, a waste of $1800.

I know the current one is useless but the word is the new model is larger in every way. Are you saying it isn't any larger based solely on this render?

Well opinions are to be considered right and/or wrong...my opinion of my 3rd row sit is that is functional for kids. It is a bit more difficult to fit a child with a car seat back there but as long as the middle seats are set towards the maximum allowable front, my 10 and 9 year old fit perfectly back there while my 3 year old and 1 year old fit in the middle seat and sometimes their cousin (9 year old) in between them :-)
So thank god for the X5 with 3rd row sitting, it was my salvation to keep a BMW , otherwise there are not too many options out there in the german arena that gives you the performance of a 7 passenger SUV. Oh and not to brag a 20mpg city 95% of the time
