Nice. We can actually hear the engine instead of just the exhaust.

Was that X5M manual? It rolled back like it was one, and stayed in gear.

F yeah! Sounds great, love the turbo and waste gate sounds. Looks like it totally hauls ass and still has a low center of gravity. Can't wait to see what's under the wrapping even though I first criticized this for looking like an X4.

Videos don't do the current X5M justice, my friend has an X6M and there is plenty of induction noise and even more turbo whooshing and whistling especially when the car is in M mode which seems to keep the wastegates closed because the throttle response is shockingly good. They sound very badass in person but I think you may be right, this new one sounds like it might be a little louder which is great.

I think most of the criticism of the automatic transmission comes from people who are sore about seeing an M badge on an automatic car, but to be honest an auto with a torque converter suits these trucks perfectly. For the people who just use them to cruise around cities (most SUV owners) the auto is much smoother and easier to park, pull away from lights, etc. and for the people who actually use their SUVs to tow track vehicles or boats or whatever, you really do want an automatic transmission.

Though between the previous Cayenne Turbo(08-10 model) and X5M, they picked X5M. If F15 X5M can lose ~400-500lbs just like the Cayenne did, I am sure the result will be changed again.

And yes, the interior of X5 is not as good as Cayenne, but it's just about right.
Soooo, Car and Driver prefers the Cayenne Turbo but they ranked it behind the X5M in a comparison?

What am I missing.

Hopefully it looks better once the vinyl is taken off..
That would be the camoflauge. It isn't just tape and stickers, they put on foam underneath to disguise the shape. Among other tricks.

LOL..

I'm hoping to move out of the MDXs and into the X5s but the third row is my issue. If not I'll have to wait for the X7.

Can't wait to drive this truck! The M5 is sick, so I can only imagine what BMW M will come up with for this X5M.

Can we expect some CCB as an option?
It looks super fast on the 'ring and I think it deserves some very good brakes too
