Pretty late reply but since we have both cars at home the cayenne is a better handler and gives you the satisfaction of driving a NA V8, whereas the X5 is definitely the more powerful underdog and has mind blowing performance.

2015 Cayenne GTS only has a V6 though. Still pretty sharp but definitely a downsizing from the old model.

No matter how good they tune the electric steering, it would not be as good as a hydraulic steering. Thinking of getting 2016 Cayenne GTS. It still uses hydraulic steering. The new motor IMO is better than the old V8. It won't sound as good as the old V8 but has way more torque down low. Looks a lot better after redesign.

Hi,
I recently took possession of my 50i, haven't driven the GTS but all I can say is that I love It. The standard exhaust was OK, only sounded really good when you give it the gas. So the first week I headed off to my exhaust guy, he is a Remus Dealer (Australia) they apparently don't make an after market exhaust for it ... I looked at the others, way way too expensive in Australia we are getting screwed here ... Anyway the exhaust dude suggested cutting off the two front mufflers and putting straight pipes in. Well That done the trick, now sounds great and it only cost me $200 not $3000-$4000 AUD for any of the others. If you can spare the cash go ahead, but this mod really makes it sound like a respectable V8 Hope this helps |
