This 335d is my daily and it is on stock turbos and tuned. I run all season tires on this car as I need to drive it in all kind of weather, but it is kind of fast for an 8 yr old diesel. I surprised a lot of cars, including this 392.

Sorry for being snarky but...not very impressed with the BMW performance.
I don't think anyone's boasting I think it was more or less the comparison of the two. And don't even start this debate because we all are well aware you're not paying $115k for drag strip monster. The dodge is quick in a straight line and sounds good. And if you ask me 40k for a dodge is way overpriced
Maybe overpriced for you. One can argue the M3/4s are overpriced. It's all based on individual wants and needs. Honestly, Chrysler has done very well with the charger and challenger exterior, interior and livability. Not that you'll expect BMW/Merc luxury but for $40k, you can get a pretty nicely equipped, very quick car. Certainly not something I'd buy but to call it overpriced is ridiculous.

I'm actually considering the X5M once my E90 sells. For how heavy it is, tuned or not, they're incredibly quick. I just wonder how reliable they are

^^This

It's actually the Dodge that makes BMW's look way overpriced. They are fast, sound great, are very comfortable and have plenty of room inside. Very practical cars. We all know that both will spend time at the dealerships for repairs/recalls.

Onto the X5M in the video...that was a terrible showing.

I’m guessing those were novice drivers, 13 second 1/4 for a 500hp 392 hemi is pitiful lol... just as running a 12.x in a tuned X5M is a poor showing.

I did run a 12.3@113 on a standard 245 section all season as well with a 1.7x 60... the nitto nt555r is a dot approved street tire btw

Anyways, my old modded e70m did 11.9/12.0 with just a Dinan tune. Somethings up here. This much more powerful f85m should easily gap a stock scat pack.

Im big on drag racing.. also have a low 11 second b8 s4 and 9 second hellcat.
I just disagree with your statement that “many people spin and run 13s” lol. Come to Michigan at Milan Dragway and I’ll show you 10 stock scats go bottom 12s or 11.90 on the same day.
Just like a stock m4 can go 11s with someone who knows how to make a good pass versus 12s with a rookie. Driver is key with any rwd car

My original post was that the Challenger ran a low 12 second 1/4 mile at a low trap speed. Regular RWD cars are typically closer to 120 mph when they get to 12 flat 1/4 miles. AWD cars or those on non-stock summer tires (like drag radials or slicks) can sometimes achieve the same 12 flat at a lower trap speed like what happened in this video.

Therefore, this race looked closer than it did because the Challenger most likely had the help of a stickier tire. I didn't mention street legal tires.

Scanning drag times now - and the guys running 12 flat at 113/114 are on Hoosiers which is what I expected.
