Ordered a X5M!!

Hi, I think this is my first post here, I have an E70 3.5i 2013, and a F23 (Cabrio) 220i 2015, but I could not hold my decision once I saw a picture of the F85!!, I placed an order for one with all the gadgets that are allowed in my country (Donington with A3 full red merino, night vision, BangOlufsen, hitch, soft close, TV, HUD, etc...) Production week will be 25/6/16 and should be shipped first half of July!!!, I also bought the BSI 360 Plus package which includes everything from handlabour until brake rotors and pads for 3 years.

Question, I asked for 319 option which is the wireless garage control, they told me that this option is not available for Costa Rica, do you think I can buy a mirror with it and change it???

Right now Im trying to change anxiuosness to joy while the car arrives, this will be the first F85 in town.

Will this be a 2016 or a 2017 X5M?

Just make sure its a 2017 because based on your production date you are right at the switch over point and the 2017 has navigation upgrades.

That's a good question, according to the local dealer (we have only one here) this will be a 2017 model, I read somewhere that new models would be started to be produce on 2nd half of June, so hopefully I will have the upgrade.

Once I have the car we can check to see what I got.

I had option 319 on my former X5 50i and never managed to get it to work on any gate or door - and being hard headed, I stupidly wasted lots of time trying it.

Probably it is as bad an option as the "baggage organizer", a Teutonic concoction of pulleys, strings and wannabe seat belts exquisitely tuned to ruin your day - perverse engineering if there ever was one.

As per your new car, dream about it as much as you wish - the reality will always be better!

Maybe you inspected mine? F85 Donington on Mugello w/ CF Trim? Released to carrier today.

I don't build the cars. I work in quality control, however I did work the line a few weeks ago. I would need the Vins in order to figure out which car is yours. Hope you enjoy the car though!

Can you please confirm whether cars built in August 2016 are already 2017 models with the new idrive?

Sorry, I don't currently have that information. I would have to ask around about that.

I think you're wrong about a June build being a 2017. 17 builds aren't supposed to begin until August. I have one being built later this month too and it will be a 16. Factory shuts down in July and reopens in August and starts building 17s from what I've read. Never read anything about 17s being built in June until this thread.

I've seen that, but it's apparently not correct. Latest rumor is last day of 16 X5 M production will be 6/30. But the poster a few spots up is suggesting it may be mid June, but I haven't found anything out there to back that up. My guess is second week of July it will start since the plant apparently closes for the first week.

My dealer still doesn't have a production number for my 16, so it looks like I may end up getting a 17.

Given the 4th of July I can imagine that factory will shutdown for such week, I think my X5M will be built soon if is not built already, Im trying to get info from the dealer but they don´t have any info yet. hopefully I may get it on July. about if is going to be 2016 or 2017, for local taxes authority it will be a 2017, for BMW tech updates maybe 2016, anyway Latin America is the last area where updates will come, don´t know why, I know demand is lot lower but prices are way higher (due taxes) but dealer and/or manufacturer does not adsorb this in any matter, it will be transfer to us directly.

Ask your dealer for the production number and get on the BMW webpage and track it. It should tell you the build stage of your X. If they don't have a production number or VIN, it hasn't been built. You may get it a month later due to your location but at least you know if it's been built.

I think I have production #, but I guess this is only available for USA customers, dont know

Shutdown starts on the 27th. Your car probably will not be built till after the 4th of july week.
