Bike rack (PDC) parking sensor warnings

Have any of you seen this issue of the rear parking sensor getting triggered with a the bike rack installed. This loud continuous alarm begins when you start the car and stays some time which is very annoying.

For now, I have covered the two rear sensors near to the rack on each side with blue tape and beeping seems to have gone. Is there a better solution?

(I did a search and could not find any previous instances where this was discussed)

Interesting, i havent used my bike hitch yet but i feel like this is gonna b an issue

Push the silence button on the console. Only issue is that every time you stop, it will start up again, and you have to push the button again. (Which if you drive in stop and go traffic, is very annoying)

If you had hitch wiring installed, could you plug a 4 pin or 7 pin tester in the socket to "fool" the vehicle that something is back there?

exactly what I did and works fine.
