I bought OE X5M rotors because of not so great reviews of the brakenetic rotors. Heavier than OE, and several complaints about noise. I'm in the GTA as well. I can PM you what I paid for the OE rotors

The lines are fine, will disappear after break in, touch up the chips with some high temp resistant paint. Anyways the hats will rust sooner or later(. That’s why I went with item f85 rotors: aluminum hats and they are designed for this set up, but pricey

I would call them up. I got my kit from Maverik259 who was selling calipers, pads and front rotors. I bought the rears directly from Brakenetic. Honestly, I couldn't be happier. SUPER QUIET with ceramics up front and posiquiet in the rear, if memory serves well. Mine didn't have any of that chipping so definitely call them. It was super easy to talk to them when I purchased the rears.

I sent an email and they replied by offering me $40!!
$40 is to cover the cost of black caliper heat paint and the inconvenience.

Solid response. They probably didn't have to deal with the additional cost of shipping them back. $40 seems fair enough. Hope you like them!!

EDIT: Did you ask them about the lines? They may have sent you a lightly used rotor by mistake.

If you used my pads they are Akebono rear and power stop front all ceramic. They look great!

I want cross-drilled rotors, working on that but used Akebono 50i Rotors to make the caliper bracket work. Luckily the shop had an X5 spindle laying around. Calipers happen to be Yas Marina Blue. Probably going with a different color even though they look pretty sweet.

Installed my setup over the weekend and couldn't be happier. The pedal is a little soft but braking is a huge difference over the 35i stock brakes. I might bleed the brakes again next weekend.

Edit: I forgot to mention, I can't reset my service indicator. I'm assuming it's cause I reused my brake sensors??

So this is how they came out. The installation was pretty straightforward as soon as they had the solid aluminum brackets made. The car definitely brakes better and harder. I would like to have them coded. I am also on the hunt for proper cross-drilled rotors. These are Akebono 50i Rotors 380mm. I've put 150 miles on them so far. I'm very happy. The color is Porsche 253 Light Green.

2018 X5 M Rear Brakes

However, for those of us who want to improve looks and performance and do it on a budget - this is the way to go guys!

Part numbers are:
34116789342 Front Right Caliper OEM (about $350-400 used)
34116789341 Front Left Caliper OEM
34112284901 Front OEM F85 X5M drilled 395mm rotor Left ($283 new)
34112284902 Front OEM F85 X5M drilled 395mm rotor Right

Total for a front set: $1365 - which is as budget as it can ever be for a OEM parts and a Brembo calipers - that's a best bang for the buck badass look you can get for your money if you want to roll like a boss

So a small update for those of you who will decide to do this little project: it turns out there are alternative F85 rotors we can use: EBC company makes GD series black zinc coated slotted and dimpled rotors - same exactly dimensions as oem F85 only a bit cheaper:

drilled and slotted
GD1813 Fronts - $228 for both front rotors! http://www.autoanything.com/brakes/77A3068A3886088.aspx
GD1814 Rears - $209 for both rear rotors! https://www.autozone.com/brakes-and-..._106652_0_4024

or just slotted (not drilled)
USR1813 front (haven't googled price for those yet)
USR1814 rear
Also, all prices are listed at the moment I wrote this, they may change so please check everything yourselves

P.S. you can keep rear stock 50i calipers and just change rotors to drilled and slotted ones for looks - rockauto sells them for $118 each - part # CENTRIC 12734095R and CENTRIC 12734095L (Right rear rotor and Left rear rotor) http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/b...hub,rotor,1896

These are OEM BMW Calipers that were stock on a E70/E71 X5M X6M (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 if I'm not mistaken). They are Brembo 4-pot calipers and are known for it's durability and reliability. They are not really rare as a lot of X5M and X6M end up in accidents (probably while drifting and speeding in Mexico). Their loss - your rare find! You can find them right now on ebay - many salvage yards are selling them via ebay. You may have to wait for them to pop up -
but I'm sure you can find them within a couple weeks top. Average price for a set of fronts $800 or $350-400 for each individually (left, right)

Mine came from 2012 X5M with 60k miles (front collision), came with oem bmw M pads, clips, sensors. They bolt on plug-n-play without issues on your x5 (doesn't matter 35i/35d or 50i). You will need a bigger 395mm rotors - your smaller x5 rotors are a no go.

Now here's the thing, stock MPBK come with 395mm rotors, but they are a bit boring. And since I have to buy rotors anyway - why not sport for something better looking eh? So I decided to buy F85 X5M rotors - they are 395mm and come drilled stock! I found them for $283 each (which is a good deal, considering some places still sell them for $445 each) here: https://www.bmwpartsnow.com/oem-part...PWxheWVyXzE%3D
These bad boys together with Brembo calipers will fill up your 20 inch rim completely and will look tits!

I'm planning to sand them down myself with just a sandpaper and then paint them red using "Real Red" VHT Caliper paint: https://www.amazon.com/VHT-SP731-Bra.../dp/B000CPJLVC

So these bad boys just came in today in mail, packed in a box straight from salvage yard lol. To the untrained eye these look like junk piece of $hit, but to me they look like a jackpot
Good day. I have a 2018 X5 M and I was curious if there was a brembo caliper upgrade for the rear brakes? I can go the expensive route and just buy the BBK kit from brembo directly but I wanted to know if there was an easier method. Also - by converting to a brembo rear kit or alternative 4 piston calipers, do you lose the auto hold functions and park button function? Please excuse my ignorance. This is my first BMW.

Covered on the first page. In short the only option is from the Russians and it's about $1600 for the calipers.

Parking brake on the X is not a function or the rear caliper. So no you don't lose anything.

Does anyone know if the e70 x5m caliper can take a bigger rotor?
