Front suspension noise - again

I posted it last winter and since spring, noise was gone.
And it came back about a month ago.

I need some professional opinions.
(no guesses please,... because I already replaced swaybar end link and front strut,...)
- All busing and bolts are very tight and checked with mechanics already.
- No noise when I go over bump.
- No noise when I turn.
- Only when I accelerate and brake.

Please check these Youtube movie clips.
First one - about time 0.10
Send movie about 0.01

Thanks in advance.

I know you don't want guesses but have you done anything to the car, exhaust, etc? Or is it bone stock?

It's hard to say.

One of my wheel bearings went bad did you check those? Mine started with a light noise early and eventually made a horrible grinding noise.

accident in rear? perhaps exhaust got hit and not fixed right. grab the exhaust pipe and try shaking it. or kick the pipe to see if you hear the noise.
my next guess would be a front driveshaft or cv shafts loose perhaps.

I feel like that would be obvious if coming from front or rear and if it's front I wouldn't suspect exhaust. Is it driver or passenger side. What speed does it start. Can you have someone next to the car walking next to the car to help pinpoint location. Can you push up and down on the front and rear ended to get it to make the noise?

Since it's only accel and Decel I'm thinking axle, hub, cv, transfer case, etc. things that move as the car moves faster.

If the noise is coming from the front, then it could be your control arm bushings worn out.

There is a technical service bulletin stating that either side is worn out, replace both sides with updated control arms with bushings. Suspect the bushings in updated control arms are the "updated" parts.

Tends to happen at slow speeds...

Look at this forum thread...

Loud clunk in front suspension https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1415871

Good luck.

It is coming from front and not grinding noise.
More like driver side but I checked control arms already and they are very tight.
I put some bar try to move them to see if they move or loose, but they are very tight.
Anyway, I will check with exhaust pipe and control arm again.

Usually, it start to move it has that noise and slow down to stop it has noise too.
But once it move like after 10 min, I can't hear.
And some time, when I park and try to kick top of front tire, it has thumb noise once and no more noise.
When I life car and try to move or shake wheel, very tight and doesn't move at all.
And no noise when I turn steering wheel nor over bump.

If someone wants to see from Orange County California, I would like to stop by to show to find it out. I really want to fix it.
Thank you.

You won't be able to see if their loose man. They're meant to control a 5500lb vehicle you're not that strong. Both mine went bad and the only way I could tell beside the noise is there was a hairline crack in the bushings. But I certainly couldn't manipulate them in any way. Try opening your door and jumping up and down while standing on the sill. See if it makes a noise then.

I think I had a similar noise happen last year with mine. Came on around fall/winter and, like you, tightened everything, took it in, etc. Dealer told me it was the brakes and they creak on this car...but I didn't feel like that was it since it happened when I accel/decel without brakes. Mine ended up just going away after a few months.

I still do have a clunk when reversing to the left that I or shops cannot figure out. Only happens when I back into my driveway. Still there even after the control arm SIB.

Yes, I was thinking the brake too. But I replaced pads and checked everything.
The reason that I don't see it is a control arm, there is no noise at all when I go over bump and there is no noise at all when I turn.
Only when I push the gas to move and slow down. Please check my video and you will see.

I didn't get any noise from bumps or turns either. Just at low speeds backing up and going forward.

Good luck man. Not a hard thing to do by any means if you're comfortable working on your own car.

does the noise get worse if the wheels are turned when accelerating or braking?

No.
Sometime, I don't have any noise and usually, in the morning when I start car and try to move, that time is kind of the worst.
After drive while, I don't have no noise or very little.
But if I park some place wait like 5min and start move, usually there is a noise.

Thanks man.. just signed up for an account but i used your DIY last weekend to replace my creaking control arm.. Did the right side now the car is completely quiet. Just ordered the left side as it just feels better to change in pairs, bought Lemforder replacements for half the cost of the dealer..

Where did you buy the Lamforder part?
I couldn't find any place in US this part number (31126864821)
There are lots of arms for E70 but not for F15

Probably the bushings. I have a slight creak in one of mine as well.
