Just read the 6WB retrofit thread, all of this was discussed there. This is not about "activation" or "coding", it is about actual physical hardware. You can use a 6WB version with HUD on a car with or without hud, but it will not work in the other direction.

Been searching online and through this thread and haven't found a definitive answer yet. Is it possible to code out the "rear seat not locked" alert on a X5 F15? We are not using the passenger side second row seat (we have the third row optioned vehicle). It would be nice to code out the alert since the seat is not physically in the car haha.

Greets all -

Just added our 1st BMW to the household (2018 - X5 F15) and have coded in the basics.

I am looking to see what my hardware/code Reqs are to activate K2O for the liftgate. I have searched the site and this thread in particular as well as reviewed the cheat sheet and haven’t stumbled across anything as yet.

Being a moderator in other groups, I get the “Newbie asking the same ? For the 1000th time without bothering to search 1st”, but I did do some diligence I swear!

That said... I likely missed an obvious thread or post so I apologize in advance for my ignorance.

But I would appreciate an assist from the community.

Since the f15 X5 didn’t have the K2O (kick to open) tailgate.. You’ll have to look to the F16 X6 (for the parts?)...or go after market like this F15 X5 owner: https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...0#post22363360

Thanks for the reply.

I had hoped that since I do have comfort settings and all the motor hardware is functional, that all I would need is the sensor and to then code it.

I guess I’ll have to look aftermarket.

I thought the F15 had the kick to open the tailgate unless it came with the rear hitch or was rear hitch ready, in which case it was deleted.

Has anyone been able to code ID 6 Lite version of their idrive? I have seen a few other videos of people doing it. My parents bought my 2016 x5 from me and would like to update their idrive if I can. I know I would need to go into Bimmercode and expert mode to do so.

2016 is idrive 4 and can't be coded to idrive 6 lite

Hi guys, i have the 2018 x5 with drivers assistance package, not the plus. it does not stop the car in case of traffic jam, just gives me a visual warning on the hud, my question , is there way way to have it warn me sooner and with sound warning too? Thanks much

There are two stages of warning, one is the red car in the HUD or cluster (if you are too close/distance too short), second stage is blinking red car with red waves on the side as well as fast beeping noise. You can adjust settings for how early it warns you, no need to code anything.

Patient guy, what about coding it to warn sooner? I got pretty close to a car and there was only visual warning

Ditto some of the comments above...if you want an earlier warning...just follow the instructions to change the setting for early warning:

After several solid years of coding experience on a few different of my cars, today I somehow realized I can't figure out how to code the following behavior:

With the headlights switch always on "Auto," when I turn the engine off, the interior lights automatically come on. I'm trying to figure out how to code this so the lights do not come on automatically when the engine is off. I'm ok with the interior lights turning on as soon as I open the door, however.

Until you can figure out if there's any coding for this...you can press the center interior light button for approx 3-5 seconds...and this will permanently cancel the interior lights from coming on...they won't come on when you press the UNLOCK button or open a door. If you need them on again...then just press the button again:

Hi Shawn. When I download E-Sys and PSDZ lite, I get connected and read from car. but CAS module isnt listed. Would i have an older version of psdzdata or what do you think? Car is 2017 F15.
