Any updates on 0-60 or 1/4 mile times?

Can this still be done if you:
A) have an engine light on now?
B) Had the car tuned by another dealer once before and are simply unsatisfied?
C) Is there any chance the vehicle's computer could be locked or password protected thus preventing you from getting the car tuned by Malone remotely?

I really need to know.
I had the EGR Delete, SCR De-activated and DPF Deleted, Custom exhaust installed, Swirl Flaps removed... Car just needs a better tune.
HELP

Yes they can do it. Think of the “tune” as new operating system being installed. If you had any codes, they get overwritten.

For X5, you might need to do bench flash (ship the ecu to tuner). Stage FP (In NC) is a good tuner in US. Tunes are developed by Bob formerly BPC. They are cheaper than Malone.

DUDMD tuning in WA state should be able to help you. I think they are having a spring sale now. Fantastic service.

25k mile update on Malone Stage 1

Haven't been on much recently, but I wanted to drop by and give an update on my Malone Stage 1 tune after ~25k miles.

In short, I'm very happy with it! I've experienced zero issues, and the additional power/torque is very noticeable. It's especially nice on the highway when you're cruising around ~1500-2000 rpm and want to pass someone, you barely have to flex your big toe and you're suddenly going 20 mph faster

Average fuel economy has taken a hit because I'm having so much fun with the extra power, but if I make the effort to keep my speed in check I'm still averaging >30 mpg on the highway.

Will update if there are any issues, but I would not hesitate to recommend the Stage 1 tune from Malone or any reputable tuner!

20k miles since my last update and no issues to report. Still tons of power on the highway, and now with the warmer temperatures I'm back up to 35+ mpg. I still can't believe the combination of power and efficiency this thing is capable of!

Love seeing all the updates you did over time, my wife just picked a 35D up after months of going back and forth for a boat tow rig and I love my some horses so I'm going to sneak this tune on her car see if she notices

Go direct or are there any vendors here willing to throw a discount? Putting a new battery in the car today compliments of the dealer so that'll be nice, I do have a beefy battery charger at home just in case but I've tuned over 10 cars before without it and no issues

I'd just deal directly with whichever tuner you decide to go with. Most provide great support should you need it, and I don't think there is much difference in price.

How has the stage 1 tune affected your DPF regen schedule?

Not sure. I’ll be getting an X5D very soon, so new to all this. Just doing some research on tunes. I’d like to go full delete but this vehicle may end up being my wife’s and she may not be as appreciative as me for the exhaust note and smell 😂. So looking at the Stage 1 as an option. Theoretically deleting the EGR without the others is supposed to cause shorter DPF regen intervals. Have you replenished it since the tune?

No emissions system maintenance at all besides adding DEF at oil changes.

Hello - how do you know if this is a tune that you just use USB for, vs having to pull anything out to do the tune? Is it a serial number.

Thank you for this informative post. I am a little late to the party and about to pull the trigger on Malone's Stage 1 as well. Assuming that you did not remove the DPF. Curious if there has been any issues with DPF with soot build up? Also did you do software deletes for EGR and SCR?
