F16 BMW X6 35i Trouble Starting - Fuel Pump?
Hello everyone,
Today I experienced my car stall. I started my car it started fine, when I placed it in drive I felt the car start to stall/stutter. The car went into neutral while it was running. I shut it off and tried to turn it back on, it fired up a bit but wouldn't hold on idle. I decided to turn off the car and wait 15 minutes, When I turned it back on I gave it gas and revved it past 3K RPM but when I let go off the gas it died again. I plugged my Bluetooth OBD scanner and used BimmerLink, I got a code for 11A031 - Low Fuel Pressure System, electric fuel pump: pressure too low. So I waited another 15 minutes for my car to go to sleep. When I started it, this time I held the throttle at 3-4K RPM for a minute and my car started acting normal. It idled normal and I went on a drive and it ran perfectly fine. My car is tuned, I've had the tune a little over a year and a half and my mileage on my car is 40,000KM/24,000 Miles. It's a 2019 model, but my warranty has expired. Is this a common issue with the F15/F16 and does it sound like I need to change my fuel pump, and If I need to replace my fuel pump what are some recommendations? I appreciate any feedback! Might be a stupid question but how much fuel do you have in the x5?
If you have sufficient amount, 90% fuel pump |

I would still fill your tank and see if it will happen again with a full tank or at least half a tank.
