But you have two sets of wheels, correct? I think he is asking if he can put the 325s on the same wheel the 285s are on.

Ah, I didn't realize he was using the same set of wheels for Winter and Summer set ups. Yes, I have two different sets of wheels.

Steve - I'm sure someone will chime in if I'm wrong but I don't think you can. 325 is almost 13 inches. I'm guessing you have the winter set up - the orbit grey wheels. I don't think BMW offers that color wheel in the staggered set up Which means you need to buy a full set. Where are you? Do you need winter wheels and tires? If not, put them up for sale here and buy a set of staggered wheels. Good luck.

But a 325/35/20 tire on a 10.5 rim is not within the recommended range and will be too large for a 10.5" rim. Rim width should be 11"-13" Having said this however, folks all the time deviate from these "recommended" ranges and go extreme stretched, or even under stretched so long as the tire bead is set and it holds air.

For any of you that put on the 611M style 20" square set up winter tires, what pressure do you use? The owners menu says front 36psi, and rear 31 psi, isn't it too low in the rear?

Hi All,
I live in NY and with the cold weather coming quick, I want to get my winter set up on my F85 by swapping out my 21in Michelin Super Sport tires and I am looking for some opinions and suggestions on a tire set up. I just purchased a set of 20in" 611M stagger rims 10x20 and 10.5x20. I checked the BMW site and the factor winter tire set is with Pirelli Scorpion Winter (Non-Run Flat) with 285/40R20 all around. I am wondering if the rear rim (10.5x20) will look off since its a bigger rim vs the front but the same size tires? Does anyone have any pictures of how this looks? If so, I was debating on getting the Yokohama Bluearth Winterv905 tires with 275/40R20 in the front and 315/35R20 in the rears. Does anyone know how they compare to the Pirelli Scorpion Winter (Box set up?). Any other recommendations on tires? Appreciate any opinions/pictures/feedback.

The square set up 611m wheels look great. Love them on my DG. That rear view pic is a little deceptive as even the 325 on my 612m wheels looks thin in pictures and like steamrollers IRL.

Is yours a square set up with 285/40R20 all around? Which tires did you get? How did you like the performance?

I just picked up the Pirelli Scorpions for my 612s. Not happy to run the Pirellis since I hated them on an old S4 Avant, but that’s all I could get this week. I know I should’ve purchased the Yokos or others a few weeks ago.

My 21" Pirellis are chillin' in the garage and I'm looking to have them installed soon. Mostly concerned about the dry and wet performance, but hopefully they're decent in the snow too.

Yes, square set up with the OEM winter package, Pirelli Scorpion. They performed flawlessly in the snow!

Even though a narrower taller tire will be able to dig down deeper...if you are in a mostly urban area...I'm sure you'll be okay. And if you are in a really rural area with deep snow drifts...you'll still probably be okay with the tread pattern and winter rubber compound of the tires. Again, the width of the rear Y/BE winter tire had me concerned until I actually got a chance to see them perform in cold/dry/wet/snow/ice/sleet conditions and performed without a hiccup.

Qsilver7 - Awesome info. I live in upstate NY where we get ton of snow but city cleans the streets and highway pretty quick. I am excited to test these winters in snow, may be some donuts lol
