I think the once pompous and arrogant stereotype now drive Teslas.

Here in LA the pompous BMW owner stereotype still lives on, as does the pompous Tesla owner. I take it as more a sign of the culture of the region.

In other major metros these cars are definitely just appliances for people who rarely drive above the speed limit. Teslas especially, are a fan favorite of the nerd crowd loll.
