Coding your X5 the easy way
1. Buy a vgate OBD II wifi adapter on Amazon ($24ish)
2. Download Bimmercode and pay $26.99 to unlock coding 3. Code your X5 to your liking The only thing I wanted to do that I could was increase the fan speed, but I have a request in to the developer for help.

I did the same few months ago and coded few things
What have you done? Are you coding with engine running or off? I have done so far - mirror folding when locking via remote - mirror folding via comfort access - DVD in motion - USB video in motion - M start up animation - Trunk open/closing via remote

thx for this info. I actually still have the car port to laptop cable. When I bought the invisihitch it came with a cable and their remote coder (okee from codemycar.com) programmed in the zoom camera feature to view the hitch ball tight.
But then as a bonus that comes with the hitch he programs in as many features you want from the coding list for free. Just nice to know that I can now do it myself, since I might want to change or add features down the road. I too luv code feature that now allows me to open and close the tailgate from the fob or door switch. I cant believe my toyota highlander always did this, but my $60,000 x5 wouldn't allow the fob or door switch to do it And now when I hold the bmw logo down to lock the car a long press turns the mirrors in. I did not want them to fold in every time I turned car off for fear of wearing out the mirror motors prematurely. question: my wife's audi Q5 key fob also does not open or close the trunk. is the ethernet cable that I now have for the bmw the same cable for the audi? Im sure I can find a free coding download for the audi in one of the audi forums. Last edited by expidia; 06-07-2017 at 06:58 AM.. |

To each their own. Clicking desire options seems simple to me, but maybe I have been coding for too long the original way. Make sure you have Bimmerlink to clear errors.

Even so, that interface is horrendous compared to Bimmercode's. And since I'm a Mac owner it's not an option for me.

It may look horrendous, but after you do it for the first time it becomes second nature. Regarding Mac I just run windows 7 on bootcamp! fairly easy and affordable.

I did coding the old fashion way. I wonder if there's things this app can't do compared to the traditional way? Alan |

I'm sure it would be interesting to learn. Is there a decent set of instructions somewhere on a thread?
