Roof Bike Rack for 2018 X5

I have the OEM crossbars and am looking for the easiest /cheapest way to put 1 mountain bike up there (College son's bike) -it probably may be a 1 time deal .

Any suggestions would be great !

thank you

Or get son a new bike at the new location. Racks are expensive.

Buy roof mount, resell when done.

Just re-read the post. You’ve gut the crossbars, right? You can try to tie a bike to a crossbar flat. Maybe you will have to remove the pedals and a handlebar.
