Red face Not a Car

There aren't many things that I desire now, that aren't within reach. Aging has rearranged my outlook and priorities. But, what I constantly crave is a great Walleye Dinner!......haven't had one since I left Michigan.

I had walleye for the first time during a trip to Lake Superior when I was visiting my sister in Minnesota. It was delicious.

I am lucky and at my ripe old age, I have everything I could really ask for. Family, friends, retired, travel, no debt, great health, etc. I thank my lucky stars every day and I am not really wanting for anything more in my life....until:

Today, I saw a 2000 or so E39 M5 in front of me while I was driving. It looks like it had just been detailed and the owner has kept it looking like brand new. I got a brand new 1997 540i followed by a 2003 540i with m-tech package so I've driven the amazing E39 for over 10 years between the two cars. I always toyed with the idea of getting an M5 of that era but my practical side kicked in and stopped me. I can afford it. I've got an extra spot in the garage, but I just couldn't justify it in my mind until I saw this beautiful example of one of BMW's finest achievements today on the road. I instantly wanted to pull the guy over and write a check for whatever amount would get him to say yes! Lust is the only word that comes close to my emotion at that moment, hence the title.

So, do any of you have that thing, practical or not, that makes you feel the way I described? Maybe a car, but it could be anything really. Keep it clean so this thread has any chance of making it to page 2!
Do IT!!! E39 M5 is the best BMW ever made.

Yes, indeed! Crappie is a close substitute. But they're considered a Wild Species here, so it's illegal to catch and sell to restaurants or stores.

Man, I so wish they sold the Suzuki Jimny here, it's awesome.

Does it have to be things, to be worth sharing? Because I’m not lusting after any “thing”…

Those are FJ40 and Defender 90, a bit of a bump from a Suzuki.

Ya, I know, just that they remind me of the Jimny.

I personally would get a suv to bash around in bad weather, I don't subscribe to luxoSUVs, it's weird imho.

A couple of things. A house is #1 on that list. Soon, if God wills.

The new t.50 from Gordan Murray is highly lust-able.

I'd love to have this car...specifically, Sledgehammer. Still have the copy of Hot Rod magazine that featured it. But - dream car from my childhood that is highly unattainable.

That said, I've been trying to talk the wife into replacing the Abarth Heritage Spider we have with a Porsche Spyder - been a 4 year press...hasn't worked yet. Last ditch efforts, I said she could get a cat if I get the car.

She's starting to break down...I see this coming soon. Must have a red top though...so silver, gray or chalk.
