Very interested in your feedback on both pads after swapping. Are you replacing rotors also?
I just replaced my rotors about 5k miles ago. I asked the shop about rotors and they didn't think I would need to. They will also bed the new pads which should give them the opportunity to see if rotors will need to be replaced.

I am kicking myself though bc I didn't have enough time to buy rotors from FCP so if I do need to replace it will come out of pocket (for the last time). Oh well.

Hawk HPS 5.0

I replaced all the OEM noisy pads with Hawk HPS 5.0. No squeak and less dust than OEM pads.

Several companies make these, do web search, at least six providers. People who use them say they get much less to no dust, reduced or no squealing. The only negative thing I have heard is they are not ; nearly or only close ; in initial bite. I drive somewhat hard 20% of time so I'm into stopping fast and hard sometimes.
IMHO this keeps me washing vehicle and wheels once week and using OE pads & rotors & finding out about anti squeal paste and chamfering pads

I’m looking into swapping out pads, I’m hesitant to get the hawk hps because of friends reviews on other platforms saying that they aren’t the greatest but I do a lot of stop and go where I live and it’s annoying to constantly be washing the car. I’m 50/50 on hawk but I may take a chance as it doesn’t seem any other manufacturers have a release date in their pads.

If anyone can provide a few months of use or longer on other pads besides oem would be appreciated

I just switched to Hawk perf ceramics from PowerStop z23s (in the front). Feel I don't notice much difference but they definitely squeal much more. Once the z23s are available for the F85 fronts, I will get those. The prior z23s were F10 pads.

And the dust is much worse on Hawks vs PowerStop, but better than OEM.

I've got an extra set of Front hawk pads if anybody wants them.

Yeah I think I'll give these a shot also... if that doesn't work I'm going brembo BBK!

Sounds crazy but I truly sick of this brake dust so if I'm keeping my truck I'm going all in fu** it.

@F85MTuNED the PowerStops will definitely meet your needs in terms of dust. I just hope they ever get released. Initially I think it was summer 2019 that they would be available.

Interesting, power stop has a Z26 for the rear but not the front...

I just installed EBC red stuff pads, and they produce quite a lot of dust. They are supposed to be low dust. 🤷*♂️

Hey, How do you like the Hawk pads vs OEM? Which ones you have, the HPS 5.0? My brake pads are getting close to replacement, time to look for new ones.
I was thinking the whole time I will be getting the Disc Italia Hyper Ceramic since I used them in the past (and still currently have them on my wife's sq5, they are great, same OEM stopping power with virtually no dust) but after reading some older comments I am now worried they are not so good for our cars? Maybe whoever tried them did not used proper bed in procedure?

Can anyone confirm that the Disc Italia brake pads tried a few years ago were indeed the "Disc Italia Hyper Ceramic" offered atm and not some older version?

I also sent a message to Powerstop on Fb inquiring about the z26 front brake pads availability...

Keep everyone posted on PowerStop's response. I know a number of us have contacted them in the past.

I have Hawk pads (after having PowerStop) and all I can say is the search isn't over for the ideal pad, at least for me.

Have you tried the Hawk pads? Much more dust than PowerStop. I'm hoping for a bit more bite on the F85 PowerStop pad vs the F10 pad but it will probably feel the same. O well.

I'm still on the original stock set at about 55k.

PowerStop customer service reply to my inquiry regarding front brake pads :

"Hello,

I do apologize we only make the z26 pads for your vehicle for the rear z26-919b.

- Any plans of making the front pads as well?

I am unaware of that at this time. I apologize. Feel free to visit our website at a later date, or reach out. Thank you"
