I myself am a newb, and can't wait to pick up my x5. My time line is almost the same as yours. I ordered my space gray 50i m sport on 10/3. Order received 10/5. Production began 10/6. Production ended 10/12. Released to carrier, awaiting transportation to port of exit 10/13. Expected at Tenafly BMW 10/16. Called my CA today and said I would prefer to pick up 10/17, if in fact it arrives on 16th. Cant wait |

Yes, I'm Bk born and raised . I live in Bay Ridge. I intended to purchase in NJ to be able to do MSDs to reduce interest . I did however go to Life quality and Freeport BMW to get an idea on their pricing. When it came time for me to hit the NJ dealers, I checked out some Google reviews, had my price point set and started at Tenafly BMW. I went in and offered a little over 7% off msrp + $1500 October promo, for just over 9% off total, and offer was accepted with no back and forth. Hands down one of the easiest car buying/leasing experiences ever. Glad I started with them and avoided uneccesary stress. Look fwd to seeing ur pics, and I'll post mine hopefully this weekend |

Funny you had a good experience with Tenafly
When I cross shopped a few months ago got the worst offers and their manager was a real douche. Got best offer from Freeport from over 12 dealers in Ny NJand PA AND I put hem through he ringer felt bad for salesperson but she was awesome in the end Last edited by knepsterd; 10-13-2015 at 06:48 PM.. I went in expecting to have to play the give n take game, and my CA pretty much scoffed at my offer, but he ran it by the sales manager and the deal was accepted. I admit, I was surprised the offer was accepted. In the end I feel like maybe there was more $ to be gained on my part(maybe another 1%), but I am happy with my 9% off deal. |

Congrats on the new car! If you are ordering the grill from the dealer, have them install it too, it's a pain to install it.

Congrats on the new ride. I'd keep the rpms low (as stated above) for the first 1-1,500 miles...and try avoid spikes in boost. This has often been argued, but really it just comes down to personal preference. With every new vehicle I've owned, I've respected a break-in period before stomping on it. In contrast, others have drove it like they stole it since new and never had an issue for 100k miles.
