18 X5 or 19 X5

My wife's x5 is about to be out of warranty and I was wondering what kind of deal's are they offering on the remaining 18 x5s or perhaps just get a 19 if the deal on the 18 is strong enough.

I don't think you'll be able to get $20k off the '18.

I'd get the new car at this point.

Deals will be much better on an 18 than a 19. That said, I would be hesitant getting the first year of a new model release.

Yeah I was also thinking about waiting a year and getting a 2020 so they can work all the bugs out.... I love her 2016 X5, but I don't like owning it outside the warranty...

I think $20k off of a 2018 is reasonably fair.... in a month or so not only is that car a year older but it is also the old body style.... you can get almost $5k off of the 2019 from what I hear so unless you get like $20k off going with a 2019 is almost a no brainer....

why don't you buy extended one? it's till a lot cheaper than buying a whole new car, especially the 2018, which is essentially the same one you having now, unless you are into the leasing thing (if true, then just go for the 2019). The 2020 thing only makes sense if you want to own and keep the car for very long time past the original warranty period.

I have to purchase because we use her car for kids and road trips etc.... I guess I will do some research into extended warranties....

Great deals are being had on remaining 18s and they are essentially a worry free vehicle. 2019 G05 buyers are seeing 3-4% off MSRP and it appears iD7 is fairly buggy. First year production of an all new model tends to be rather problematic. Pass on being a beta-tester.

Am I the only one that thinks F15 Msport looks better than the G05? IMO the front isn't bad, but the rear is a deal breaker for me. Just saw one on the road yesterday and it confirmed my thoughts.

I vote 2018 MSport. I will be holding onto my 2017 until the wheels fall off.

I do not care for the rear of the G05 as well. Poor execution..

I got $10,000 off on my 2018 X5 last month. 2019 ones come with lots of bugs since they are new productions. I would suggest getting 2018 or manufacturer extended warranty if the car is in good condition.

Was thinking of pushing a local dealership on an 18 50i they have in stock. Msrp is 86 with 9.5 off already. How far do you think I could push them?

Ask for the moon - just don't get attached to the idea. If they know you are serious and you let them sit on it a few weeks with no buyer - they may call you up and meet your needs. They will want them gone by years end anyway, so they might be willing to really deal if it is still sitting there.

Just don't get attached and start wanting it more than they want to move it at your price! LOL

If that’s the case, go for the 18. You’ll get a heck of a deal and full warranty as well. Plus you’ll own the better looking SAV vs. the 19.

A local dealer has 2018 5.0 M sport with a window of $93k. He offered me a 0 down lease for $1085 a month for 36 months. The car has all the options I want, it just looks like a high lease payment for that car in my book. Thanks.

It sounds reasonable, but you can't really expect a dealer to take a loss on the sale. I guess if they get desperate to meet numbers they might strike a good deal, but $20k will be a hard sell unless you find one that's fully loaded that they need to move or you're buying a X5M.

I think $15k could be doable though. I got my 2015 in 2015 for $12k off and a free hitch installed. Perhaps get some value added options that cost the dealer minimal?

You got a better deal than me.... I got a 2016 x5 in December 2015 for $10k off.... One of the hard choices I have is do I get a 2018 5.0 loaded or the new body style 2019 4.0 for almost the same price.... I think the 2019 will have the higher resale value when I have to trade it in 3-4 years from now...
