Joined the Rolex club!

Hey guys... So after saving up and doing a ton of research I finally picked up my first ever Rolex. It is a 116610LN Sub Date.

I was lucky enough to spend a few months over on one of the best forums on the net The Rolex Forums "TRF". I learned a ton about the watch, the brand, and the different choices. In the end I was able to by a BNIB from a trusted seller for A LOT less than an AD. I did go to and AD to try on a few watches but TRF was by far the best bang for my buck.

Ill post pics as soon as I can. Also I just got a Wolf Viceroy 2.7 winder to keep the watch running when its in the safe.

Great choice. Love mine and I use a Orbita winder for mine.

Not a BLNR (116710), but a Sub Date 116610LN. Congrats OP!

Nice!

I bought my first Rolex sub in 1989, it was 11 years old (78) when I bought it, for $550.

Wore it until 2006 and got $2600 for it in trade for a new Sub (can't remember the price).

I've had 5+ since then, settling now on my GMTII C.

Keep it no matter what, it won't really lose value.

For me, I think the watch is incomplete when it doesn't have a date. It's primary the reason why I didn't get a Daytona.
