OP, I had a vibration at 70 mph and it was annoying as hell. I swapped out my summers for winters and vibration is gone. I need new summers when I swap them back. It sounds like the alignment is off after hitting pothole. I don't understand the shop not being able to find it. What the hell is that? Did they take it for a drive ? Bring it back to them and have them fix it. Alignment, balance all tires, check for a bent rim from pothole?

Sounds like a wheel/rim problem. I hate potholes.

Go to a different tire store to redo the wheel balance. Happened to me before where the tire store that installed my tires didn't balance the wheels properly and blame it's my rim/tires. The store mgr even said he went to test drive himself in person but the car was parked the same way I pulled in. Went to a different tire store and problem solved.

I put new tires of the 612m wheels and alignment done at BMW Northfield and same. Then just bought a new set of 22 in HRE P201 and Scorpio Pzeros and same problem. Now winter set also. So annoying. They keep saying everything look in spec condition. Been to a different Bmw shop and they say the same. I wonder is a bushing or something go loose. Do bad wheel bearing vibrates?

Has to be a wheel out of round. Some weird things balance. Like my recent defective snow tire. Completely defective but it spin balanced. Put on the spare at the wheel you hit and see what happens.

OP, on your first post you mentioned that vibration starts with a (separate?) noise, can you elaborate? Maybe there's a clue there.

Were you braking while hitting the pothole?

Could you lift the front wheels, grab each one at the tire and compare the bearing plays, both East-West and North-South?

Do you feel the vibration mainly on the steering wheel or through the seat?

Get a ROAD FORCE balance. This will find unbalance that "static" balance will not. Have them check the "wheel run out" when you get the Road Force balance. This will tell if rim or tire has been warped/egg shaped out of round. You must find a COMPETENT shop that actually knows how to use the Road Force machine.
