You wouldn?t dare be associated with the peasants. You drive an X5M so your ego can fit?
Lol. You are an idiot.

By your statement, I?ll assume you don?t have a single one of the following:

A motorized vehicle
A home that you own
A cell phone
Cable or satellite TV
Personal high speed internet
Glassware
Shoes that lace up

Because that would make you a narcissistic egomaniac.

All all the above items are luxury items that the majority of the inhabitants of Earth don?t own.

Hey, wait just one minute, you are on a BMW Forum.

Did you know BMW?s are not necessary at all?

Here are some things about you:

1) You most likely have a BMW, because you feel they are nicer and warrant the premium price. How is your ego?

2) Don?t have an M

3) Tell your friends you have an M, when it?s just an M-Sport

4) Rebadge your car with an M Badge

While thinking about all your own personal property, please explain to me, and whomever ?appreciated? your post, why you feel, because I?ve owned 6 M cars in the past (all ONE at a time) you think you know how a person feels/acts. How you know the size of their ego?

I?m waiting......

If I was a person with a huge ego, I simply would have said ?Go be poor somewhere else?.

BTW, prior to my 15? M... my only car was a used Honda CR-Z.

Like I said, you are an idiot.

Keep supporting their ///Marketing people, sorry to say this but it?s working..

Well since you asked... I think his point is that you are belittling those who (you assume) don't have a "real" M-car and then go on to list each and every M "trophy" you have had which is a tad egotistical in that context. And then to throw personal insults kind of proves his point.

Show me ONE example in my 1st post that he replied to that was belittling someone without a real M?

Show me.

Please.

My, and the majority of others feel BMW is consistently watering down the M Brand.

That is the point.

At no time did I mention customers in my post.

Go ahead and read through my last posts... you tell me if I?m in a position to belittle ANYONE...

Not that I would if I was.

It's all about the context of your original post, it just comes off as condescending to those who don't have M. And so does the "here are some things about you" list.

I look at it like this...
BMW makes a standard line and a high-performance M line with M-Sport right in the middle. The M-Sport pretty much has standard performance combined with M styling. Perfect if you like the sportier M styling but will never use the high-performance of M and don't want the increased liability of owning a high-performance car. I don't see anything wrong with this and I feel that BMW is wise to capitalize on it.

Okay.

It?s laughable that an ?M? car would be a trophy car.

It?s just a BMW for Christ?s sake. Not a bespoke Bugatti.

This M is the most expensive car I?ve ever bought and it was still less than 100k USD.

I?ve had 27 cars (I?m 41)... the M?s were by far the most expensive. Shit, I drove a used CR-Z, so I could save up the for 2015 M4.

Do I want something (regardless of what it is) that I have saved up for to be Different/Better/Stronger/Cleaner/ Whatever, then most the other like items out there.

Of course, so would you. Otherwise what?s the point?

Just drive a beige Toyota Camry.

Do they make more money watering down the brand, you bet. Cannot argue that.

To those customers that have, in my personal example, saved up so they could drive something different, it?s a FU to them.

If currently driving an M makes someone arrogant to someone without an M... think about how you?re affecting people that drive a Hyundai.

At least I use my blinkers (lol).

So, long conversation short.

IMO BMW is turning people off that want a real M..

Lol! Glad to hear that there are some of us who still use their blinkers.

I get what you are saying but I disagree that the M brand is getting watered down. Any BMW that is not a "real" M and is bearing an M badge is paying homage to it's high-performance sibling in the same way that a basketball fan wearing the Bulls #23 jersey is paying homage to Michael Jordan. We all know he or she isn't really Michael Jordan and if somebody can't tell the difference, they were never a fan to begin with.

Nice.

Really boring post about the Special Edition. More like a joke but glad I brought popcorn for the ensuing discussions.

Sweetie. I am not the one flaunting how many M cars I?ve had. You are upset that have enough money to separate yourself from the common man, yet BMW keeps putting the M badge on more models. You are so upset, you question ?what the hell is the point??

I get it. You worked hard for your money. You want to feel good. I am queuing you in why you don?t have any friends. Buy the M car for yourself and nobody else.

Exactly. Quit worrying about other peoples' cars and their badges and it won't affect you at all. Guess what? The car still drives and looks the same whether someone throws an M badge on a 328i or not so who cares?

I like the side air vents on the X6. Is that a square set of wheels on the X5?

Damn dude that?s some keen eyesight.

I don?t think so, the OEM 599s are 21? and all OEM F15 21? setups are staggered, no? But I?d love to confirm.

Damn that LBBM is growing on me. Thought it only looked good on smaller cars like the M2 initially but it?s such an awesome color.

LOL.. this isn't the beginning..

The first vehicles to come in LBB were X5M and X6M two years ago.

http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1086692

If anything.. Adding the same color to the M2 was the beginning of whoring it out...

http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1187545

as well as the X4 M40i at the same time..

http://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1178995

Then there were bicycles...

http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1251299

And now some additional X models.. so.... while you are correct about " everyone having the color " potentially... .. It never was rare or limited from the beginning.

I love the battle between butt hurt AMG/M owners and those who don?t care. Truly the best part of these threads! No matter what website it’s all the same.

(Previous AMG owner and don’t care when Mercedes started watering down the brand. I know why I bought the car and I certainly didn’t do it to impress others)
