If this is not the case, then that would change my basic understanding of performance brakes.
although a huge topic shift, i'd be interested to. this often comes up on the other performance vehicle forums and the science comes out that there is no difference and tires are where the investment need to be made. the difference in performance to be gained is in avoiding brake fade, better cooling for performance driving where it is needed, and in brake feel and pressure modulation at times. the brakes lock up almost instantly in both instances and tires do the rest.

For those on the fence about MPBK (M Performance Brake Kit) - if you are very active driver skip them and go for something more substantial in performance like setup from F85 or F10 M5 (using adapters). MPBK fades after 3 stops from around 120-130 to 60 - basically they are not for track or aggressive driving

Cheapest option is just to change pads to HAWK or Porsche ones - that should increase initial bite and decrease braking distance even on stock brakes

Did you code after installing the MPBK? Looks like without this, you will not be able to tell any difference from stock. There are plenty of threads and here is one http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1178827

MPPK is an official BMW aftermarket product. It is VO-coding, which is applied on install. No additional coding is necessary.

Update after 1 year of applying Autoflex. The paint is holding up great and looks new (just like it was applied a week back). The maintenance is so easy, dirt and debris come off very easily compared to OEM paint.

Yes ofcourse, you can do glossy, matte and satin finishes. There are more than 25,000 color choices and all look professional grade. I have been told a proper autoflex job will last 5 years easily. Given that I had this for a year now, I see this lasting for many more years.

You are spot on, gloss black wheels would look really good matching the gloss black window trims, kidney grills and front splitter. The best part is to do gloss black autoflex on the wheels .

Trying out Tesla for some time, I most probably will lease/buy X5 M when the new model becomes available in 2020.

i like new design of the X5, hopefully all the bugs are fix by the time X5M is released.

Believe me I would love to keep it, but cannot justify two monthly payments.

Wonder how this would hold up in a more challenging climate?? CA pretty soft when it comes to weather. A little rain, a little smoke...lots of sun. No snow, no freezing rain, no salt on roads, etc. etc.

Looks good OP...colour is close to my F87 (LBB).
FWIW, IMO it does look better without the red stripe and black wheels would round it out.

Not extreme, but the car has seen 110F driving to Vegas and San Diego and the paint had no issues at all. obviously I haven't tried extreme cold, but I expect it would be fine as long as you maintain (regularly wash etc.). icy roads are different though.

I agree that the truck would look great with gloss black wheels.

Interested in some close up of the front bumper. Any chips or imperfections from road debris etc. I know you gotta have a couple. Just curious how it reacts to such impacts and what it looks like after a year of that.
