Need a recommendation for all season floor mats and cargo liner

Hi everyone I am a brand new BMW owner just purchased a 2016 certified preowned X5 35i.

The car came with very basic what I would consider ugly floor mats that almost don't look like they're factory BMW they don't have logos on them anything and are very thin and flimsy.

I'm looking to add all season rubber type floor mats front and back and also in the rear cargo area. I don't care if their factory BMW or aftermarket but I'd like them to look nice. I'd rather pay a little more and get something that looks nice. I have kids who will be in the back and I need something that will catch spills.

Do any of you have any recommendations??

I also have the third row seat in the back I was wondering if any of the higher end cargo trays / liner's will fold in half when I have the seats flipped up?? My last car I had a cargo liner that would not fold over and it was a real nuisance to constantly pulled the cargo liner out of the car and store it when I had seats folded up if that was something that would accommodate that it would be great.

I saw the weather tech mats I did not care for their great big logo all over them I probably lean toward something that's either generic looking for has a BMW logo on it
Thanks!

i use these and have not looked back. they replaced the weather techs that were there previously. much much better and they look like interior carpet but are fully waterproof and you just spray them down with a hose and all salt and dirt just washes off....they also don't discolour

here they are in a e90

I went with the Weather Tech one. They fit nicely and cover well and handle Buffalo winters easily.

I just posted a topic regarding this. I highly recommend the BMW weather mats. Fit and finish are fantastic!

Have any of you tried the factory BMW all season mats?

I have the WeatherTech hard ones. I think they are excellent except they cover part of my illuminated door sills. They also cover the hump in the second row and they have one for the third row if you have third row. I also have their trunk liner.

Sadly my trunk liner does not fold up and I totally get what you’re saying. I think there is one that does fold up from another manufacturer I forget their name.

I have the factory ones which came with my car but I could never get them to sit flush like that.

I have the OEM plastic ones for winter use, and they work pretty good for me.
Fits perfect, but I believe they should be a bit longer up front, drivers side.
Rear seat mat is a one piece, works great, ex gf kids tried to make a mess, but mats caught most of it..
Due to the length of the back seat mat, I end up folding it, when I store it during the summer.

My only complaint about the BMW or any other winter mat I have tried is around the gas pedal.
I wish BMW would redesign the gas pedal mount some way..
Every BMW I have had, has had problems with dirt accumulating around the base of the gaspedal. In the winter, snow and salt will melt and run down the gaspedal, and not get caught by the mat.
Pain to clean in the spring..
As far as I know, none of the winter floor mats available, will fix this problem.

I agree that the driver side mat could be a little longer.

As for the gas pedal issue. They design it that way so that it doesn't impede with the pedal. God forbid your pedal gets stuck and now it's a lawsuit in their hands.

warm up the mats a little with a hair dryer or heat gun. Then place in car so that mat takes its shape.

Good point, attorneys have a way of helping careless and stupid people make money...

IMO, if the gas pedal assembly was slightly off the floor for 2-3" forward, so a mat could slide under, I don't see how it could be an issue. Or maybe use vinyl under the assembly, to make it easier to clean..

If it was up to me, I would try to figure out a "safe" way to redesign something with the gas pedal, to make it easier to clean.
However, I have no plans to work for BMW, or be a car manufacturer, so it's not up to me..
I guess I will have to live with what BMW considers to be good enough.. LOL

I have the BMW all weather floor mats....they suck in my opinion. not because they don't protect the floor. they suck because they are slippery AF. I just replaced them with a full set of findway waterproof floor mats as mentioned in my previous post and i'm not looking back

The problem is the part that sticks to the Velcro that doesn’t sit flat. The front part next to the pedals are fine.

Interesting take on it.
I can see your point, though I never had a problem with them being slippery.
Do you have any pictures of them up front?

Had them in my wife's 328. They were fine. A bit more expensive for about the same thing.

Getting to this party late, I have the WeatherTech for the cargo area and the OEM rubber for the front and back. I like the look of the rubber ones against the tan carpet, offers a nice contrast. In full disclosure I live in Florida so they are not protecting from snow and winter mess. More like the occasional wet feet from torrential rains and sand from beach days.
