It looks just like mine! (That would be none) Is there a foldable plate holder in there somewhere that I can't see?
I have the hardware for a foldable frame that I bought a few years ago that I didn't use, but for the life of me I can't find it anywhere. Maybe this one: http://www.hidetheplate.com/product_...&products_id=1 |

We've discussed this in couple of different threads, not sure where those threads are now, though. I actually mounted my plate there but I am thinking about mounting the bracket there instead and I was worried about air flow being blocked, and the only good reason to fold the plate bracket (or use foldable) that I can think of is to get more air flow, because you will still get a ticket (and most likely be pulled over) for not displaying your front tags, regardless you can unfold it or not.
I thought NJ did not require front plates, do they now? In NY they have been cracking down on plates recently so I am not sure how lucky I am going to be with my new X5. So, if you are doing this, strictly for unfolding it when parked to avoid getting ticketed, you might as well get a motorized one installed for $200.

Yeah, but the problem with these is how unreliable they can be. I've heard numerous reviews that they get blown away and rattle at 65+ mph. It seems like a safety risk. I looked into it because it looked like a great idea.

Thanks for the feedback. Yup, NJ requires front plates. You guys are probably right about unreliability. I was just wondering if anyone tried any good fold-able plate with X5 M Sport.
Btw, those X5 look really hot. They were taken at Bimmerfest 2014. See more on photographer's flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/gordat...ream/lightbox/
