Wheel damage

Got my summer wheels out today and was cleaning them, noticed one had pretty major “curb rash” on the inside of the wheel.

I think this might be due to a fairly large pothole I hit about a year ago that wrecked the tire. The wheel wasn’t severely damaged aside from this possibly.

Could this be from some other issue? Anybody have a similar situation?

It certainly is a rather interesting pattern, but nothing I'd worry about nor would I spend money repairing it.

Actually only minor cosmetic problem, nothing to worry

Hitting a pothole isn't going to cause rash around the entire circumference of the wheel. Not sure what would cause that on the inside of the wheel? You've never noticed it before?

Also, are your wheel faces on the concrete in those pics? Hopefully something in between there to protect the faces.

I wouldn't fix that myself, however if there was any rash on the outside lip I'd definitely fix, wheel rash hurts my eyes.

Thanks for the input, I put it back on today, tire shop didn’t think it was a big deal, thought it was likely from the tire puncture at high speed on freeway.

That is odd. Very consistent all the way around the wheel.

Any damage to the tires? From your photos, doesn't appear to be. You might just have hit a perfectly tiny curb with the inside of your wheels that was tall enough to damage the wheels, but not to scrape the tires.

Do you use car washes where the wheel rides in a track?
I have seen wider wheels with low pro tires having similar issues.
My guess is the BMW rear tire camber, somehow makes the wheel more susceptible to damage on the inside of the wheel.
