Automatic high beam on constantly

Hi! I run search fast but did not get an answer.

I have F13 2014 where when you turn on high beam assistant that icon A stays on dash permanently (in a dark time of course) and when the surroundings allow high beam goes on.

In turn, F15 2016 works weird. Once you turn on that assistant it stays on a dash until you shut down a car. Then when you start an engine you have manually turn it on again. Is it somehow possible to turn it on once and have it constantly on? Not the high beam on, but that assistance in a stand by mode.

I mean this icon constantly on.

6wa standard cluster. BDC. KAFAS and all assistance on board.

Can you help with that opasha and delviacv2 please?

question:

do the automatic high beams work? as in they turn on if there is no light, etc?

Wonder if the F15 was "factory reset" if that would clear for you. I am sure you can code a reset.

Everything works fine... as long as you manually bring that A light on a dash. F13 can remember the most recent setting and keep it. X5 needs to manually activate it every time you start an engine.

Did you code in "Anti-Dazzle" or is this stock?

RED_Y is correct...on the F15 you can't code the auto high beam to default to always on.

The difference between the two vehicles is...the OP's F13 6 series has the FRM module (which can be coded for the auto high beam to default to always on)...but his F15 X5 uses the BDC for headlight control...and that module can't be coded for auto high beam to always be on.

This is from experience...my 2015 F06 is coded for it to always be on...but my 2014 F15 X5, I have to activate auto high beam manually if I want that feature on.

Different modules...different coding capabilities.

No such reset thing.

Just to be clear that everyone is on the same page...auto "high beam assist" & auto headlights are two different things.

The auto headlights are set by turning the light switch dial to the position that has the "A" (for auto). The headlights (and tail lights) will come on when the ambient lighting reaches a certain degree of darkness (dawn/dusk/night-time/tunnel/parking garage/etc).

The auto "high beam assist" will turn on the high beams under specific conditions when the headlights are already on. And they will go back to regular headlights if oncoming or cross traffic is detected...as well as bright city/urban lighting is present.

Yes, I need high beam assist on automatically, without pressing a button on a left arm next to BC button.

..unfortunately the BDC can't be coded to keep high beam assist on permanently. If you have a BMW that has the FRM module controlling the headlights...you can.

..unfortunately the BDC can't be coded to keep high beam assist on automatically. And the F15 X5's headlights are controlled by the BDC module.
