X6M aftermarket warranty value

My local CarMax has a low mileage 2016 X6M in stock. Appears to have been driven by a grandpa, looks mint all around. Coincidentally it belonged to one of the residents of my complex(not sure who) and sat around unmoved most of the year. Anyway, my point is it's priced very well and looks great but deciding if I should get maxcare. This isn't really a post about whether or not maxcare is a good value (I trust it) but whether a $3,800 bumper to bumper warranty on a 2016 36,000 mile x6m is worth it. It's not really that expensive but I'd rather save that money for new tires if it's most likely going to be a very reliable car. I haven't been able to find much of anything on here about how reliable they are up to 100k miles (what this warranty would cover) since all the reliability posts I've seen on here are about new from factory defects. Anybody have any advice or input?

If getting an extended warranty helps you sleep better at night, get it. With a CarMax extended warranty, you can take your vehicle to any BMW dealership for warranty service no questions asked.

I'd get it. There are so many small things that go wrong that cost a ton. I have a comprehensive 4 year for my very low mileage 2015. The warranty company paid out more in claims on common issue items than I paid for the entire warranty in the first 6 months of ownership. I only paid dealer cost for the aftermarket warranty though, so it wasn't very expensive. Obviously, I don't regret it.

How many miles and mileage is the warranty for? Maxcare is one of the best and if it's anything over 4/48, it's good

When I purchased my 2012 X5M with 40K miles 16 months ago, the recommendation was, I should get a warranty as I was told horrible stories on the forum/s.

15 months and 7,000 miles later, the thing still running without missing a beat.

I purchased the BMW platinum extended warranty for an extra 3 years and total 75K miles on my 2016 X6M with only 29K in May. This week both front axle shafts were replaced at a cost of $4250 (app) and I only had to pay my $50 deductible. I have not had any big issues with this car until this event, so really glad I extended coverage. I would get it.

Short $$ for the warranty. I would get it. One system failure will run at least that cost. Xfer case or something like that.

What happened that required front axle shaft replacement? Any symptoms that indicated an impending failure?
