'Cyba' Black F10 tips installed

not realizing our tips didn't uninstall like the f80 I ordered some black tips from cyba here on this forum. I took it to an exhaust shop and am fairly happy with how things turned out...ended up $80 in labor. Sitting next to my f80 with the AWE exhaust with the larger tips, I kinda wish I woulda found a larger tip, but that's a personal preference thing. overall, this completes the black/white look we were going for on our x5m.

Forum Member CYBA - these were a HUGE hit in the F10M forum. I'm going to guess these run around $300 shipped from Derek.

Is that the stock diffuser?

How did they install them? Do they just slip over OEM tips?

correct from cyba...$285 shipped I believe. it is the stock diffuser..i just had it and the mirror caps painted gloss black.

I had hoped they just slipped on but not the case. the muffler shop had to cut off the old tips, make an adapter/sleeve and used the supplied hardware as well and a little welding to install the tips. he said he really didn't have to weld, but he felt better about it, which I understood.

Cool. First person to do this to my knowledge. I was also thinking about doing that w/ the stock diffuser as im not too keen on any of the aftermarket options yet.

One question though - it looks like the outer tips stick out more than the inner tips. That's the reverse look of the stock exhaust. Did you mean to do that?

Hard to say - i wouldn't think they do if you're just welding a new tip onto the outlet pipe. Robbys3m3 has done a nice job with his X5M so I doubt they do. I think it's just the angle.

Can you post more pics please? I'd like to see this from further back

thanks for the compliment. ill get some more pics when I get back to the garage a little later. im sure they sit a little different than stock, but my main concern to the guy was for them to stay the same side to side regardless.

I think i really like that black diffuser. hah. So hard to tell. It's definitely light years better than the stock look.

The black tips look fantastic though. That's definitely a good way to dress up the stock exhaust if not wanting to change the whole thing out.

My black tips

Used Flame Proof ceramic paint to paint the original tips on mine. I'll try and get a better picture on a sunny day soon.

Very nice! For the $ and effort, I think your route is much more efficient and looks great!
