Fuel Pump Wire Harness Connection

I installed a new fuel pump and feel dumb asking this but I'm not having any luck reconnecting the wire harness. I can't figure out the trick to getting it back on without breaking it. It has four little nodules that it sits on and should slide forward and down, but I can't seem to get the middle nodules to fit in for it to start sliding down. Anyone run across this?

I feel really dumb but wanted to put the resolution in here, just in case someone runs into this. The plastic connector is made up of two pieces where the outside cover slides back, which then allows you to place the female section of the connector on the pins and then you slide the cover forward to lock it in. I apparently forgot this when I removed it and the cover was slid forward so it appeared to look like a single unit.
