Question 2015 X5 35d xdrive engine removal

Hey fellas, Im new to this world . I just bought me an X5 35d and 4 months later it is making timing chain noises.

my question is, Does anybody have documents on how to remove the engine? i went to the BMW TIS site and could not figure out how to find that info (Im kinda an idiot FYI)

Im in the beginning process of the job , but just didnt want to get too deep in the weeds and get stuck somewhere.

Im a heavy equipment mechanic, so im a little out of comfort zone. I prefer dozers and excavators but I also dont want to pay the multi thousands of dollars to get it done somewhere else.

It is a diesel, it has the all wheel drive, I believe it is the F15 N57 model.

thanks in advanced!!!

Download ISTA so you can have it by your car in the offline mode so you can find torque specs and procedures right away. Official BMW TIS site is very expensive.

Also, it most easily goes out the bottom. If you drop from the bottom you basically need to disconnect the struts, top a-arms, driveshaft, cooling lines, all electronics, and the trans mounts.

Leave the subframe and suspension attached to the engine.

Once the entire powertrain is removed then unbolt the motor from the trans if you need to do that. I don’t know much about the n57 and if the timing is on the front or rear of the motor.

And yes, ISTA is most helpful.prolly easier to buy a cheap copy on eBay. That way you have vendor support (kind of)

Then it’s time to either build some wooden supports for the whole car or remove the whole front end and pull it out that way.
