Wooohoooo wireless apple car play for NBT users.

Ok, similar to what mrfochon is suggesting for the FCTech box, I have ordered a Kremersino box last night and will install as soon as received, and report back to you all on the functionality of my 360 cam and the audio quality.

My understanding from conversations with the Kremersino rep, who has been very responsive and great to deal with, is that while auto 360 cam does not work while in Carplay, the PDC beeps do work, at which time you can just press the cam button (which is not functional at all with the Joyeauto unit, a dealbreaker for me!). If that works in this way, I am happy. I will also report back on audio quality, although that is slightly less important for me, since I listen to SiriusXM 90% of the time. I think the audio quality issues only existed for those on CIC systems who have to run a cable to the AUX port (not the case on NBT systems).

Kremersino will for a group buy likely match the lowest prices we've seen here. I would be happy to assist with that.

Sweet.. I sure hope it works. I believe sbinshihon said that he has the standard stereo so I couldn't tell if there was any degraded sound on HK or BO systems.

I like using CarPlay with NBT Bluetooth for a few reasons; most important is clear sound calling with OEM mic, I ended up taking off the "ugly looking" CarPlay mic. Second is being able to answer/end calls with the dedicated steering wheel button! Also better music quality & you still can use Siri with the long press of voice commands button!

I think the only thing you will miss is turn by turn navigation, which I cant stand while driving. Overall, NBT Bluetooth is a much better choice to source sound with CarPlay.

I intend on doing the same thing when I receive mine... I don't like using navigation with speech enabled anyway. Good to hear that you can still use Siri without external mic.. I assume it'll be the same on the Kremersino. Can you also use the speech recognition for text messaging in Carplay without the external mic?

Oooh, OK I see what the workaround is now. I do the same thing with the wired unit in my M3. It's not bad but when I connect the phone it uses CarPlay for audio and then I have to switch audio source on the phone. Do you have to do that with the wireless unit also?

Yes, you do pretty much anything with NBT Bluetooth because it connected directly to the phone.

No, I keep my phone connected to Car's blutooth and it gets connected to both NBT and Carplay automatically when I enter the car.

Let me suggest something else, I ll get a box from FCtech at my expense.
Anyone in greater nyc willing to test the 360, which I do not have, no charge for you? Time and effort to install together.

Satisfied with the result, you can keep it. Not satisfied, I ll take it for my car.

How does this sound ? Candidates ?

I live in North Jersey, maybe 40 minutes from NYC. I have a 2016 with surround view and Harmon Kardon....but absolutely no idea how to install and no experience. Happy to hand you tools if that counts as installing together. Let me know.

how much is the Canadian duty on this?.

Also, since you are in touch with the seller, would you mind checking if it's possible to use the original microphone from the car. hate the idea of pulling new cables around the car.

Yes you can use the car build in mic.

I dropped on my seller discussion. Though I had a great group buy deal..too much work these last two weeks. If people are still up,i ll reinstate the deal. Unless anyone has a better deal.
