93500 mile maintenance

hey guys

15 f15 here up until now the car has run fine on just oil changes.

what are some maintenance I should have done / should do soon as im running upwards of 93500 (151,000km)

Ive done oil changes, coolant change, brake fluids, brakes (pads+rotors)

Should i do Diff? Transfer Case? Transmission? BMW Dealer tried to sell me on Fuel Filter? But i dont see anyhing about the f15 requiring a fuel filter?

You should definitely change your fuel filter, in addition to the above.

Thinking of picking up a used 15 x35i dealer said the car is in good condition, but I still need to take it to a mechanic. I am planning on putting aside some monies for things like this. How much will all of this set me back?

I DIY'd all those for about $500

Is this the order you'd recommend tackling these in?
I've heard the belt and tensioner horror stories and will probably get the kiels plate to prevent a catastrophic failure.

I feel like plugs and coils would come before trans, diffs and transfer case. Would that be accurate?

No specific order, but I would do the fluid changes first

Huh...looks like the 35i does not have a serviceable fuel filter. Thanks for the info.

OT but makes me question why it is integrated into the HPFP, wouldn't a replaceable filter prolong the life of the HPFP?

I would replace everything on this list except the transmission oil. If this is the first replacement on such a large mileage, there is a risk that the transmission will be damaged. Replacement should be carried out from the beginning of the operation of the car, every 25-30k miles, replacement on a large mileage is a risk. In this case, it is better to drive, I know cars that have traveled 170k miles without changing the oil in the transmission and everything is fine, all the other fluids on the list need to be replaced ..

Sorry, but that's just poor advice. Putting on a new filter pan and swapping fluid will not damage a thing. If that was the case, there would be millions of cars with the ZF transmission getting damaged all the time all over the world.

Hell, even ZF…who makes the transmission…recommends changing the fluid at 80k miles.

I just shared my experience, I personally had this problem after changing the oil in the transmission, my friend changed the oil to a BMW 528xi and 2 weeks later got the same, the first change was 85k miles. Maybe it's a coincidence, but when I come to the service the mechanic says, changing the oil in the transmission is a lottery. All the mechanics who worked in Europe told me that.

At first it was good to check the pressure in the transmission and in each clutch. (A,B,C etc ..) and compare with adjustments from the factory. This will help you understand the condition of the transmission before oil change. You can do this in the program ista rheingold + enet

Are you talking specifically about probs with the ZF tranny? That's an important detail as not all tranny's were made equal.

Yes, I meant the transmission ZF8HP45. I had problems with the transmission after changing the oil for 85k miles on my old F10 535 XI.

Concerns me a bit as I have 112K miles on mine, and plan on doing a tranny pan and fluid replacement. Like others have said, they've had no probs after the tranny service, but then you have anomalies like yourself.

I know on the older 6spd ZF trans changing the fluid at such a high mileage was a bad idea. I know that's a different trans, but I still wouldn't if it was my car.

So I'm running the BM3 stage 2 93 octane tune. I want to flash the tranny with XHP for quicker shifts and more clamping power. I'm assuming this prob isn't a good idea considering my mileage and not doing the tranny service?
