How to Remove Rear Seats
I would like to remove the rear seats so I can built a flat cargo platform, does anyone have any DIY/HOW TO instructions to remove the rear seats? It's a 2017 X5 xDrive35
EDIT: I have 60/40 split rear comfort seats Last edited by forgot; 10-21-2020 at 03:35 PM.. |

I think you just yank up on the bottom cushion. Just be careful because there will be wires for the seat heater. Then the bolts are exposed I believe for the rear seat portion.

Do you know if there is any documented instructions anywhere? I found some for an older model but tearing up the seat correctly is easier said than done I've found haha

Much appreciated, do you happen to have any more detail on how exactly to unclip the seats, I see the clips but its definitely tougher than I thought it would be to undo them.

If it matters, I have the 60/40 split with the handle underneath the seat to shift it forward. The cushions seem very attached to the seat.
EDIT: rear comfort seats, so its not one continuous bench in the back, I'm assuming there is another procedure. Last edited by forgot; 10-21-2020 at 03:29 PM.. |

Thanks! Does it tell you the torx sizes for the two different screws?
I'm also having a difficult time telling where the second set of instructions takes place. Once you unlock the rear seat and fold it forward. Last edited by forgot; 10-21-2020 at 04:00 PM.. |

Sorry not in front of my computer with ISTA anymore, just go give it a try, second picture is talking about folding seat forward so assuming this is all under the seat bench.
