Most probably you connected it incorrectly - your power supply "sleeps" when the car is locked. Where you've got a power from?

Also, I got power by tapping one of the PDC fuses.. do you remember where you got power from? Never mind.. I got a smaller add-a-fuse and used 150 instead. Now it works. |

Hey guys / gals - I just got the remainder of the parts to complete this mod on my '15 35d X5 M Sport. I'm wondering if there is any agreed wisdom regarding placement of the upper and lower wires/ sensors inside the bumper cover? I had this option on my F31 and removed the bumper cover to install a hitch but don't really recall the placement. To add to the intrigue, I also have the factory trailer hitch setup on the F15 so assumedly will be motioning to the right or left of that hardware - does that impact functional installation of the upper and lower wires?
Many thanks for any helpful experience. I'd like to avoid as much as possible having a poor functioning retrofit. |

This thread is awesome - I had been looking on realoem to get parts from a G05 X5 to try and do this.
Coming from the F16 is a way superior solution! Especially since it involves coding. Thank you all on the thread over the years! |

About to install this on my F85, will be the first i think
Here is the coding : BDC : CAH_SMART_OPENER_COD_FAHRZEUGTYP = wert_43 VAM_SMART_OPENER = activ_hk vam_enable_smart_close - aktiv NBT EVO : SMO_CONFIG - aktiv BACKDOOR_SMO_INSTALLED - aktiv The rear bumper design little different on F85 and the bottom section does not allow stripes to installed properly, i will try to install closer to PDC area but will do test before i install 3M zip ties. I checked my G20, they also installed right on the bumper so i think or hope it will work out

Alright guys i have concluded the SMO on my F85. Had a hard time to figure an issue. Luckily i have a G20. And its is very easy to access to SMO module. I swapped with my Ebay one and problem was the module not being turning on and causing LinBus to throw error which disables driver side buttons with mirrors.
Once the working module in place, everything activated. Much needed retrofit for me. Thank you for all the inputs here : https://youtube.com/shorts/5qtBx5TNfwo?feature=share Last edited by SaNGRia; 11-07-2022 at 02:45 PM.. |

CAH_SMART_OPENER_COD_FAHRZEUGTYP = wert_43 Before VAM_SMART_OPENER = activ_hk vam_enable_smart_close - aktiv Will appear? I am using Bimmercode though. My G08 has a 32x deletion. I have since bought the new module and replaced it. Prior the replacement of the smart opener module, my Bimmercode can read VAM_SMART_OPENER vam_enable_smart_close However after replacing the module, the Bimmercode can’t read VAM_SMART_OPENER vam_enable_smart_close Was wondering if it has to do with CAH_SMART_OPENER_COD_FAHRZEUGTYP By any chance if the system is smart enough to detect a removal of module and change the value of CAH_SMART_OPENER_COD_FAHRZEUGTY Resulting to removal of VAM_SMART_OPENER vam_enable_smart_close Thanks in advance. |

Removing the module will not change any of the coding index on any module but depending on the module might throw an error. So something is up with the module or your connection.

CAH_SMART_OPENER_COD_FAHRZEUGTYP = wert_43 Since my current value is not 43? Any other way to check if the module is connected properly? Guess the only possibility is that the wire got dislodged when I try to put out the wire from the module. I have double check the make sure the connector are secured. |

Perhaps not directly related to the Comfort acess feature of the tailgate, but would anyone know what is needed to retrofit the "two button" switch for the tail gate (see attached pic)and make it work? Previously my car had the one button only switch for open/close the tailgate. The new switch plugs into the fuse, but the lock button is not working, only the open/close button works.
