Thoughts on ACCELERA tires?
Looking at upgrading to the 21" 612M F85 Wheels but would like to keep all seasons year round. Do anyone have any experience with Accelera tires? Specifically the ACCELERA IOTA ST68 285/35R21 & 325/30R21? They're the only all seasons for the 21" and are fraction of the price of say the DWS06's. Does that mean they're crap? I've found mixed review so far on other forums..

I was at the local dealer today and I saw a 3 series running 20's with the Accelera tires. They look like a replica of the Michelins. They even have the flag like design on the tire wall. I ask the owner and he had nothing but good things to say.
Hopes this help. |

Why not have two sets of tires? PSS for summer and good winters? If you are paying such a high price for this vehicle, you should drive appropriate tires. Not like we all can't afford them since we all drive this expensive Sav.

A couple reasons- I would prefer to be able to run the 21's year round and don't have the storage. I'm sure my dealer or a local shop would probably store the other set but again, main thing is having the 21's on all the time. Looks so much better. Main reason is not cost, however, I'd prefer not to shell out more than I have to!

So you have a vehicle with 567 hp and 553 ft-lbs of torque and you want the budget brand for one of the largest factors in safety and performance?
Edit: nevermind. See you posted to the wrong forum. |

Seems like a chinese tire imported by a US wholesaler.
I don’t understand the logic of buying a $100k vehicle, upgrading to 21” wheels, then cheaping out on tires. But maybe that’s what Michelin wants me to think. |

Wish there were more tire options for our cars. The real problem is for people who want to run all season tires instead of swapping between summer and winters; its not cheaping out, there just isn't a selection of top brand tires. I've actually seen more all-season options researching 22s, but even the majority of those are top brands. You can get an RR SVR in 21" and 22" with all seasons but not the F85/86.

Reviving an old thread here, but still haven't seen much chatter on the Accelera Iota tires for the F85. Based on the all the research I was able to do it seems these are decent economy tires and one of the only all season options for the 612 wheels. I just put them on mine a few days ago and so far, they are great. Much quieter than the Pirelli run flats I had. Will update as I get more miles in different conditions.
Bought them online and had Discount Tire install them. |

I wouldn’t do it! I’d keep good tires on and get winter tires too. Not worth the risk of some sub standard tires! Michelins are the best you can get. If I was on a super tight budget I would buy used Michelins over Accelera..

Just because it comes from Asia doesn’t mean it’s garbage. Also they come from Indonesia not China…but that shouldn’t matter. Also, unless you bought the X5M platform brand new, anything less is balling on a budget in relative terms. I don’t need two sets of rims for the driving I do and would much rather have convenience over track ready performance. I’ll report back with real feedback once I have more data. |

I'm getting a set put on at my local dealership tomorrow actually. Michelins get chewed up way to quick. I'm not tracking the car, only pushing hard a few times. From my experience not much of a difference. Tracking... all day stickier tires.

Very interested. Please post updates! Apparently everyone tracks their X5M so it's Michelins or bust. I ran DWS06' on my F80 and F06 and it suited my needs perfectly. Disappointed they don't come in sizes for 612M.
