BMW guy here through and through. In 2014 I cross shopped all these SUVs and went for the Range Rover. Pretty bloody fast and you can have stupid power for less than $2K. We talking 630 hp mountains of right now toque with M3 performance. Best looking of the bunch and you can get the SVR with an exhaust to die for. But I prefer the luxury so I got supercharged. It turned out to be a lemon but I so loved it I swapped it for 2015 autobiography. Looking to get a tune on the rover and an M4 to replace my 335 soon. The strange thing is having an SUV this big and heavy that an M4 would loose a few ticks to.

Turbo S is overpriced for what it can offer.
SRT is from an inferior league.
They should have put a GLE instead. However the result would have been the same, last place
Why would you drag a SUV? Because you might have more fun than going off road

Yeah the GLE would get beat although out of the two, I like the fatter GLE better.

This is the first time I prefer a Benz SUV over BMW. Would still take X5 over the ML though.

Yea like that crappy Camaro Z/28 or the Mustang GT350. Those really suck

Woah woah lol I didn't say all American muscle cars suck. Or anything about them sucking at all. They're just built for different reasons.

I personally love the gt350 and would love to own one.

I'm talking about the everyday cars from the respective lineups. I mean, pulling out the gt350r is like me pulling the gt3 rs card and saying nothing from BMW compares to it. Well of course not, the rs is a dedicated car. I think ford did a fantastic job with the gt350, and they had an opportunity too. Just like jeep has an opportunity to make their hellcat an absolute monster

Except that the Porsche is the only one here with any off-road capabilities.

Even to this day, it does not matter what I am driving. If you rev or taunt me, we are gonna run'em.

Did you encounter any issues/repairs outside of normal maintenance in the course of ownership?

I traded in a 2014 GC SRT on a new f80 M3 last November.

When I bought the GC I was cross shopping the tested in the video and the value the GC brought to the table was unbeatable. The interior was above "good" quality but not great, same with the paint and exterior. But lowered, with spacers, exhaust, intake and a tune and it was a blast to drive. I got more looks and compliments on the GC than I have with the M3.

Great vehicle. The Hellcat is going to be hilarious when it debuts.

No comparison between the two as far as interior. The cars may be in the same power range but that's all.

Have you ever been in a cayenne tts?

I like the looks of the Porsche more than the BMW. If I was a buyer that would be my choice. They are both excellent performers.

I would have preferred to see the following lineup:

BMW X5M
Cayenne Turbos S
Range Rover Sport SVR
Merc GLE63 AMG

With this lineup, it's pretty much the X5M vs. Range Rover Sport SVR. IIRC, MotorTrend did a H2H with the X6M and the GLE63 AMG S and the X6M pretty much walked the GLE63 AMG S in a drag race. With the X6M being pretty much the X5M, small differences between the two isn't going to change the result.

The RRS is great...when it's not in the shop or being lemoned and yet you bought another.

Could say that about the Old X5M but the New X5M is Pretty much on par.
The problem with the Cayenne is the car is outdated inside. Needs a Redesign ASAP! I will say this after driving both i would not pay a Extra $50K-$60K+ for a Cayenne Turbo S.

The only fault i can find with the X5m is the electric Steering is a little numb.

No harm - sometimes I'm overly sensitive about generalities. Its amazing there are so many great cars out there today - they all have their different personalities - people just need to get out there and drive them!
