The F15 hold has been REMOVED !!! :) start posting pix

Just got confirmation that the dealer hold is removed and the dealer demonstrator models will be arriving starting tomorrow to a dealership near you.

The end-user hold is removed on the 15th of October so expect to start getting them next week !!!!!

I am confirming my PCD date for Friday October 25th !!!

Can't wait....

I'll do a real time video/pic thread of my experience....start posting pix/videos of your new bad boys .... Or as bmw says "The BOSS is back !"

Nice!! I am debating a couple of things (x-line vs luxury, mainly) and almost considered waiting to order until I could see them in person. Sounds like I may get away with ordering next week and still being able to see before it's too late to change my order.

x-line vs luxury are both awesome, not a huge diff. I was on the fence as well ended up with the Luxury Line. I like more of the body color and the chrome black in luxury line. I feel the wheels are better on X-line. Enjoy.

That's the thing, I'm upgrading to the 20" wheels either way, so it comes down to the lower front grills and the rear bumper. With the 20's, I'm not sure the flared fender trim is still body colored on the luxury line, but honestly don't have a preference on painted vs black plastic on this one. Mainly comes down to the silver accents on the x-line vs. chrome on the luxury. We're getting Black paint, so I'm just wondering if the "swirly" silver piece (for lack of a better word, the piece at the lower corners where air intakes should be instead of fake plastic air intakes, side-bar, this is why M sport isn't an option for me, that huge plastic where an air intake should be is just too big...) is just too much on a black car... but I otherwise like the sportier look compared to the chrome bars on the luxury line. I like the X-line a lot on a gray car where the silver accents are just accents, don't stand out as much as they seem to on Black.

ugh, I need to see some of these things IN PERSON!

My CA just told me the same thing. The wait is starting to get to me now. Maybe because some people are getting their PCD dates.

Guys, sorry to hear your cars are still on hold. Why would BMW release the sixes but not the eights?

And based on dencoop earlier posts, he has a 50i as well - read his post in more detail and he calls out a 10/15 end user release date

guess we have to wait 5 more days then everyone else?

We are signed up for PCD (never done before) - are you all planning on doing PCD as well?

Also - anyone know of a good posts regarding the route to drive from PCD in South Carolina back to DC area? Plan to fly one way (or maybe car rental depending on flight costs) and then drive back...I believe Tail of the Dragon isn't too far and could be part of the route heading back to DC. Just obviously want to avoid I95 and other similar unpleasant roads. most likely will have an overnight stay somewhere - so trying to figure that out

Things to do while waiting for our X5...

XLine comes with running boards like it or not. Also, xLine trimming is silver matic and lux is chrome. Chrome is old school looks.
XLine accents and extra steel on lower bumper of front and rear compliments the looks.

Today my dealer showed me a copy of a October 11 email from "national automotive sales" that says the 5.0's will be released "in November". It does not give a specific date. The updated shipping estimates on my production order says ship 11/10, arrive at dealer 11/13. Previously it had said 10/10 and 10/13 respectively. My BMW loyalty is really being tested...

hopefully the previous post about the end user hold being removed on 10/25 is accurate vs "November"...maybe I should start growing a moustache until I receive my X5 in honor of Movember

Relax. My last three BMW's were ordered, built in Germany, and took 3-5 months for delivery.
Maybe it doesn't help, but I thought I'd throw it out there to try to make you all feel better. Didn't work? Oh well, I tried.

I'm annoyed because my $1000 ultimate drive incentive expires 10/31 while my completed car continues to sit at the vpc.

I don't think the Ultimate Drive can be used for the 2014 X5 anyway. Check the fine print.

I believe they excluded the F15 from that anyway. Maybe they won't sell well right away and they'll honor them... doubt it though, but there is a chance they'll offer something else by the time cars start coming in.
