Headlights Question

Hi!
Can somebody enlighten me please.
Just get the chance to really look into the headlights this evening when i checked on the newly installed LED fog lights from bimmian.
Anyway, I noticed that the 2nd bulb in the headlights remain off/unlit regardless if it's on high or low beam.
Is that normal?
Thanks![IMG][/IMG]

It's normal for xenon lights. Better search next time.

The inside "lights" don't have anything behind them. It's just for the looks. The high and low beams are done via a shutter of the two Xenon bulbs, one on each side.

I'm over it, don't worry. I doesn't get bothered by snarky posters like you.
I don't know why bother responding to a post with a backhanded "welcome".

It's because we expect people new to the forums should first search and research your questions for first and if you can't find it then you can start a new thread. You know, try researching on your own.

Forum etiquette, although you are right the response was less than friendly but imagine all the regulars here that see these questions come up a few times a month for the past 3 years and answering it numerous times.

I understand the fact that questions may be recycled every so often in this forum. How many percent would you think new questions/topics abound as against recycled ones, i bet not a lot.
New info comes in as they are discovered or solved that are pertinent to present situation thus some questions get recycled.
You have no idea how many of these threads I have read and learned from. Yet, there are still questions I would like to ask.
So regular posters who may get irritated on these recycled questions should get off their high horses and try to understand or don't even answer at all.
Regular posters who willingly helps newbies like me are appreciated.
Thanks.

Except you didn't find anything "new" or post anything helpful. And I was perfectly friendly in my initial post. Said welcome to the forum and please and everything. Can't help if your too sensitive. And let's just be honest here. You didn't actually search before you posted. It's literally the first thread if you simply type in "bixenon inner light" so cmon man.

It's ok. All were asking is to do that first. So that those threads with unique and new problems don't get lost in the minutia.

On European Models i.e. if the car is equipped with ADAPTIVE LEDs all 4 headlamps are on. In addition you get built-in cornering LEDs

Guess for other cars equipped with Xenon headlamps or standard LED, just for design and obviously to reduce cost for mfr.

Try your"flash to pass" option to see if they come on. (Headlight switch off and pull the turn signal lever back) they work that way in my E-46, but haven't tried it in the X5 yet.

Can we please stop replying in this thread. It's covered over and over again. OP is gone and probably won't be back (which is unfortunate).

For once and for all. The inner lights are dummie blanks!
