Anyone tried another tire than Pirelli for stock 20" rim
I had Continentals on most of my BMW's and really like them over the Pirelli. I know that Continental does not make the stock size tires that Pirelli does for the F85 20" rim.
So I was checking to see if anyone had success trying a different tire size and manufacture over the OEM tires. I know the X-drive will not work correctly if tires are out of tolerance for the X-drive. Thanks for any info,

Continental extreme contact sports. Last twice as long as Pirelli. Tire rack has them…275/40/20 and 315/35/20. The difference of 1 cm in width is not very noticeable. No issues with fit or anything else. Handling wise they have been great. Got the recommendation from a forum member somewhere...

Thats what I wanted to hear. I had those on my E70. I was just worried about the Xdrive screwing up (shuttering like 4x4). If you have had not had any issues this is the route I am going. Thanks
BTW how long have you had yours on? Thanks

So I used up the Pzeros after the first 9k, switched to these (I use a winter setup Nov-March), and I'm ready for a second set. They probably went 18-20k so far and could probably squeeze another 5k out of them if I really wanted. They've been great. I'm getting the same thing again.

Here in the UK we have Conti Sport Contact 6 in the exact OEM 20 inch size, speed rating and load capacity.
Ive got them on the rears at the moment and will replace the fronts later rhis year. No complaints from me, good tyres Cheers Yves |

Whoops I was wrong. I'm on my second set of the Continentals. So that means I got about 15K on the first set. But...I don't wait until they're all used up. Probably could have gotten 18 on them. But not what I wrote above. Apologies.

How do you find the continental Sport Contact 6 vs the Pirelli in terms of handling and wear? My fronts are down to 3.8mm and the rears at 5.0mm, so I am contemplating switching to the Conti's.
