I will probably pay it within 12 months to be honest. Hi-Tech electronics like nav, radio will go out at 80K

Rt 66 - Doesn't cover X5
Fidelity - Only through dealers/CU
CarChex - $6100 for only 3yr/36K
BMW - CPO Wrap for $3200 for 2yrs/Unlimited
AAA- Not offered in my region
Avoid endurance. I believe they also have a low limit of liability. Check with Carchex and autopom as they use a variety of high rated providers.

I signed up with them but I'm waiting on easycare to send a quote. I think you're talking about max payout?

I decided to go with BMW platinum for 7yrs/75k miles for 4900. I don't think I will hold the car beyond 7 years.

Djrabbi, who are you talking with for easycare? The price is all over the place, I was comparing easycare with BMW extended and after I brought the BMW warranty because easycare cost more than BMW pricing when he quotes me. I thank the easycare guy and he came back with a better price but it was already too late.

Here the quote that I got if you want to compare in the future - Easycare gold
100 deducible
5yr/75k 3545
6yr/75k 4343
7yr/75k 5386 - BMW platinum was only 4900 so you can see why I went with BMW
8yr/75k 6200

6yr/85k 4900
7yr/85k 5860
8yr/85k 7200

again, the guy said he can do better AFTER I told him I was going with BMW.

Whatever warranty you choose, be sure to read the fine print...Even in exclusionary, it can be tricky. Especially when it comes to electronics/electronically transmitting devices.

You folks in the US really get hosed with BMW's platinum warranty. I just signed up for 84/120 for ~CDN$4700 (taxes in) which is about ~USD$3500 (according to google.) Too bad you guys can't buy it here. Didn't have to haggle much but a discount was given.

Any Canadians looking to get something similar let me know and I'll shoot you the dealer's name. You can get it from any dealer which helps you avoid P/HST if you've got it.

My 2016 X5 warranty expires in June 2020, and I have decided not to buy the extended warranty. My X5 has about 22k on it and is in excellent condition. I'm going to replace the battery at about year five and keep it regularly serviced at my BMW dealer and go from there. I think if one is on top of what's going on with their car these things will last a long time. Just a little TLC like you give yourself pays dividends with cars too.

I already have 2-3 things listed for endurance warranty to kick in. Let's see.

Is this 4yr/100k additional? Who is this with ? My cpo is up in a couple of weeks, I went with this company called Auto Service Center, but trying to get my deposit of $395 dollars back. I’ll try to make this quick, I was offered a 5yr/ 100k ( these are additional) platinum warranty with 100 deductible for $4,435.
It was structured to pay $395 down and 18 payments of $224, but if I pay all up front was given the price of $3285. I was like this sounds too good to be true.

So now why I changed my mind, supposedly Auto Service then has a company called CarGuard Administration Inc. handle all their claims, upon further research they basically find any loop hole out of paying anything and deny claims. I have 30 days to look it over, they sent me a pdf on what’s covered and not , I found one section which said they can use used, refurbished, or re built parts on your car. If anyone out there has heard of these guys and has any feedback please post it. Google there name and read about all their denied claims. I don’t want to risk giving them over $3k and then getting stuck paying for my repairs too, so just want my money back.

Quick question for you guys, does the after original prepaid maintenance work need to be completed at the dealer in order for the extended warranty requirements to be met? I understand one has to maintain regular maintenance as per the vehicle’s service minder but would rather not have to go to the dealer all the time.

I was told you can do maintenance outside if you like, as long as they know what they doing, it should be ok and bmw will still cover your extended warranty. Of course, they prefer you to go to them but I was told it was ok.

After some consideration, I have gone to cancel endurance warranty. No issues but thinking CPO will cover most stuff so I'll put couple hundred bucks away a month. Still CPOd till early 2021.
