66k love the car I've driven it 7k miles she's in for oil change and brake fluid change. The only issue I have is soft close door motor went on drivers side. Other then that she eats a liter of oil every 3k miles which is outstanding. I had a F86 that leaked at 65k miles and ate oil to the point it was every 700 miles needed a liter... it was horrible. This one no leaks love my F85.

It's all about the maintenance boys!!! These are high precision performance vehicles the most valuable relationship you will have is with your SA.

Oil consumption is 1qt 4-5k miles. I drive short distances for my commute. 12 miles each way.

F'ing love this vehicle. Almost as much as our 'silver bullet' 150k e92 . New G05 this Sat for wife. Doing my part supporting Munich!

Bought a 2016 F85 used at 24k miles exactly one year ago. After one year as my DD, it has 36k miles. No major issues. Still madly in love with it!

My 2015 F86 has 22,5xx miles. I had to have the rear differential removed, disassembled, and resealed last month. It was leaking oil. BMW wanted to replace the differential entirely (totaling about $6,000). Aftermarket warranty found a SB about fixing it and made them go that route (still about $2,000). Probably will need to go in to have the steering column fixed since it is super noisy moving up/down/in/out. Still waiting on parts for the LATCH recall...

- Front passenger lower control arm
- Rear Air suspension bags on both sides
- Trunk hinges
- Trunk kick sensor

Can't wait to return this car very thankful this has been a lease and I don't have to deal with it long term. Feel sorry for the next owner. I got the car brand new from the factory and have had more issues with it than any other car I have ever owned.

Kinda crazy cause most of us haven't had a ton of issues but it's sad to hear you had a bad experience.

Yes very unfortunate. What's even worse is that neither the dealer nor BMWUSA really cared.

Jumped ship now to the other side and got an E63s and am absolutely loving it.

2017, ordered and purchased new
almost 24k miles, drive year round with snow setup (live in the northeast)
just replaced the summer rubber (21 inch michelins) and the winters will be replaced over the summer (20 inch pirelli from the dealer winter package)
routine maintenance, has required additional oil twice between changes
I had the dealer silence an instrument binacle squeak that cropped up at 10K miles
also had the brake caliper clicking issue fixed (dealer bulletin, they knew it was coming)
the brake squeal issue was "addressed", they printed info for me stating that this was to be expected due to the performance nature of the brake etc. Whatever they did has helped and I have my fingers crossed.
Overall, I am very happy with the reliability (almost 3 years in) and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend based upon my experience.
Enjoy the ride, it is an amazing ride. I would do it again in a second.

I sold my 2015 f86 at 75k km and never got issues at all.Now my 2019 has 17k km, no issues so far.

I want to wait also 2 years before getting the new model but I think this time I will go for the X5M.

Well, I drove down to Wilmington NC from VA and bought my 2015 X5 M back in Nov. This was a well maintained one owner car back. The previous owner had tons of maintenance records, and all fluids were changed, the car presently has 53,xxx miles. And the only thing a changed was the drivers side kidney grill, as one of the plastic clips broke, causing it to loosen, which drove me nuts. Added a 1 qt of oil on the trip back to VA. Added a carbon fiber shift knob and center console cover. Had the front wheels refinished and re-clear coated due to some light curb rash. Had the tires filled with Nitrogen. But I've not had any maintenance issues thus far. But I'm coming due for an oil change soon, and plan to due a complete brake job. Also I'm planning on having the coolant, transmission, transfer case, front & rear differential, and brake fluid changed.

But I talked to my SA, and they don't recommend ever doing a transmission fluid flush.
What is the deal with this, no fluids last forever. She said doing a fluid flush could cause seals to leak. ??? Any advice??

LOTS of strong opinions on this. All I know is that my downshifts were jerky prior to a trans flush. Afterwards, pretty much night and day difference. This was at 50,000 miles. I am not going to argue that you should or shouldn't. However, I know I am glad I did mine.
