QuickJack & X5M
FYI, if you're considering purchasing a QuickJack, the BL-5000EXT will easily lift the F85 X5M. The frames are just barely long enough. The factory lift points are slightly further apart than the max spread for the lift blocks, so they hang off about an inch front & rear. With the 12V DC power unit it lifted the X5M with ease, despite the vehicle weighing a little over 5000lbs. Vehicle felt sturdy when lifted. There was some play in the rubber lifting blocks.
I'm sure QuickJack will tell you the BL-7000EXT or newer BL-6000XLT is the right model to use for our vehicles. For me it worked great for swapping over to winter wheels/tires. Just sharing my experience since I wondered if the 5000 would lift the X5M. Disclaimer. It's up to you to decide what you're comfortable with when jacking your own vehicle. Use at your own risk. I have no association with QuickJack. Etc. |

The assembly process is pretty straightforward. Mostly installing a handful of hydraulic fittings, connecting hoses, adding hydraulic fluid. I didn't have any issues. No leaks. If you need to raise the entire car level, say for a differential or transmission fluid change, it's far easier than going back and forth with jacks and jack stands, especially if it's a low vehicle. |

$1175 is a good price for 7000. Btw I will not buy 5000 for the X5. Frequently over stress the hydraulic system will shorten its useful life prematurely. It is also not worth it to save few hundred bucks and risk your life.

After reading about others using it to lift vehicles just over 5000lbs. (some claiming even QuickJack told them it was fine, helping to increase pressure, etc.) and seeing the manufacturer videos showing it lifting many times the rated weight, I was comfortable giving it a try for a tire change (not working under the vehicle). Actually, after the wheels & tires are off I bet it's pretty close to 5000 lbs. Regardless, if I need to work under the F85 I have a different, larger capacity lift for that. Given my limited experience with hydraulics (excavators, log splitters, heavy manufacturing, other lifts, etc.) my personal opinion is that the 5000 hydraulics are not stressed with the F85. No perceived difference with lighter vehicles. I'd be more worried about the frames. I agree with your statement. Just sharing my experience. Not making a recommendation. The BL-6000XLT is probably the best fit for the F85. |

Hi can you post a pic of the lift pints for the quick jack? I have a 7000 and was thinking to get the ext for it but the spread is 66 inches and I measured my F86 and the spread for the jack points are 68 inches. I'm wondering if the spread is less on the F85?
