Lowering spring installation

Can anyone share the installation cost they paid for lowering spring installation?

I was recently quoted north of $1000 for the install and it just seems way high to me.

I'd also be open to recommendations on where would be the best place to have the work done. I'm leaning towards independent shop over the dealer.

I have a 15' F15 35i xDrive - no air suspension, no dynamic damper control.

Thanks for the help!

Insane.

It’s been covered on here many times, it seems that $400-$600 is the going rate. I paid €400 for springs and spacers to be installed.

I agree.
The indy that did mine recommended to wait on the alignment for about 1k km to allow the springs to settle in. After 1k km I took it to BMW for an alignment and they determined that it didn’t need one.

Here's a quick video of a guy doing it himself (related video portion starts at 1:46 and end at 6:25) - e70 x5m - has almost exactly same suspension setup in terms of spring lowering installation

Judging by the looks it's 3 bolts on top and 3 bolts on bottom lol. The rest is just handling and spring compression.

I've done suspension work before on m3's 😇. I opted to get it done professionally as I'm too busy and lazy on weekends to wrench on my suspension 🤣

Drive down to LA and I'll do it for fraction the price.
You can enjoy LA city tour while it is getting worked on.

You should have played the lottery that same day! Not only was it still in alignment, the fact the stealership didn't just take your money is amazing. I got really lucky, like you with my E46 M3. My buddy and I installed full coilovers w/ camber plates. We dialed in the ride height as it settled then took it for alignment and the shop called me right back and said the alignment was within spec. Didn't charge me a dime I too should have played the lottery.
