Yeah, I'm aware of their warranty, but it was $80 more per rotor, and I don't expect to keep the car long enough to have to replace the rotors again.

I read good things about these pads as well, so we'll see.

BTW - I ordered BMW Genuine rotors ($309/each):
https://www.bmwpartspros.com/v-2017-...--front-brakes
4-11-2-284-901
4-11-2-284-902

My local dealership quoted me $1345.30 (for rotors only) plus any shipping charges depending on where they are going.
Hi F80SRT,

I don't think the pads at the link on Amazon are for an F85/F86... they are for an E70 X5 M or E71 X6 M.

Correct EBC Yellowstuff pads for F85 can be found here...

Great, looking forward to your review on these, EBC is readily available here.

I think you may be right... I also just ordered the Hawks HB835Z.726. BTW- I called Power Stop, spoke to someone that said they don't have a date on the Z23's, then she said, maybe August. She said she would find out and give me a call back.

I've been running these Hawks for two months now (a little over 1k miles), no squeak, and a lot less dust. Initial "soft' bite is a little less than stock, under normal stop light driving. If you are driving more aggressive, and hit the brake harder, more late breaking, the bite feels the same. Hard braking is very good.

Interested to know if/when the EBC front's come out and how those perform, but it seems like a moving target (date) on when they'll be available.

To say it bluntly, these Powerstop M5 ceramic supplement pads do not come close to the stopping power of OEM and can be downright dangerous when emergency braking is required. I will be going back to OEMs and figure out a way to combat the squeal and dust.

SupersixM you aren't going to consider the Hawk pads? I haven't had to do any emergency braking but you have me a bit worried.

Can you clarify your exact setup? I've tried contacting powerstop, but received a response of "What sub model do you have?" when I told them it was a 2016 X5M. I didn't receive a reply once I clarified and then reached out again. F them if they don't want my business. F them doubly over if their product is not even that good.

I am due for some service and am going to have hawk pads put on. Is the Z version clearly the better option? Meaning HB835Z.726 vs HB835B.726.

Just ordered the hawk pads and plan to put them on next week during some routine maintenance. Will post afterwards as I am coming from the Powerstop M5 pads as well.

Very interested in your feedback on both pads after swapping. Are you replacing rotors also?
